We went here for the Sunday breakfast buffet and had a great experience. Beware the café is small inside but there is much more seating outside. Would recommend getting here early if you want to sit inside. The buffet had some great food options like shrimp, crab cake, chicken and waffles, and potatoes. I personally loved the croissants, they were soft and flaky. The interior is also decorated so nicely with artwork for sale. Service was a little slow but not bad at all. Would definitely recommend this place.

A true gem. My only regret is that I didn’t try out this place sooner. The Pearl is delicious and the Havana (cuban sandwich) is the best Cuban sandwich I have had outside of Miami, and better than several places in Miami. People are lovely here as well. We want more of these kinds of places to thrive, definitely give George’s Cafe a try. This is a must go to place in Winter Park and the Orlando area.

So glad we walked a little past the busier places downtown that had long waits to find this little spot! We sat outside on the cozy porch and had a delicious lunch. Don from the boat tour (a long time resident himself) highly recommended this place & we see why!

Tucked away in quaint old town, the atmosphere is welcoming and homey. The food is fresh, delicious, and elevated. This place has all the feel of “the good days” while still keeping up with the “foodie” crowd. Highly recommend!

Went here for the first time for breakfast today and had such an lackluster experience. Walked in with my husband and toddler and were not greeted or acknowledged by two servers working. Finally we went to the order now sign and still waited there for 3 minutes while a server was cleaning out the fridge. We explained that we hadn’t been there before and asked about breakfast options. Was told the buffet was 16 a person when menu said 18? We were charged 18. We decided on two buffets and went outside to eat. There was an impressive spread of options for the price but unfortunately all was pretty much cold. The chicken and crab cake Benedict’s were rock hard. We did enjoy the shrimp and grits, waffle and bacon. No one came to clear our plates or check on us the entire hour we were there. We were only approached when we got up to leave an hour later. Such a bizarre experience with no customer service and lackluster food.

I really want to love George’s Café because the location is fantastic, but the service and kitchen management are incredibly frustrating.
The biggest issue here is consistency—or rather, the lack of it. It seems like they are always missing items from their menu. On my last visit, I tried to order a Reuben, only to be told they were out of rye bread. Today, they didn’t even have fries. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when you have to keep pivoting to your second or third choice because the basics aren’t in stock.
Beyond the menu issues, the service has been a letdown. On one occasion, they completely forgot to bring out my nephew’s meal. We sat there eating while he had nothing, which is a huge oversight for any restaurant.
While the setting is nice, the food portion of the experience consistently fails to deliver. Until they can get their inventory and service under control, I’d recommend skipping this spot if you’re actually hungry.

My husband and I have been to George’s many times, over the last year, every time we come, you can hear the back of house team arguing with each other, yelling profanities and we just sort of thought maybe that comes with the territory at George’s. This time when we came (2.7.26) we noticed there was no crab benedict on the buffet as we sat down and asked if there would be any. They said they’d put some in right away, we waited because that is our favorite. When it finally came out they brought out 3….then when my husband took 1 and another guest took 2 the man in the back cooking (Sanford is his name) could be heard loudly saying “that man took all 3?!) so my husband and I quickly told the woman behind the counter kindly (since we could hear everything he was saying about us)…we did not take all 3, another guest took 2, and even though my husband had waited 30 minutes, he took only 1. This shouldn’t matter either way considering they advertise a buffet, they never seem to have food out on time or enough to feed people and keep the buffet stocked. They had 5 parties there (mostly outside) eating buffet….so why make 3 crab benedicts (it doesn’t seem like their line cook knows at all what he is doing)? Either way, they constantly have this issue and the icing on the cake today was Sanford (the line cook) could be heard from the back saying “the tall white guy” in reference to my husband continuing to talk about us from the back loudly,so we walked out. Even the kind woman behind the front desk apologized for his behavior and even offered to get George on the line. I really can’t believe after all of these years that we’ve given any business to this place after the experience we had today. This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in any establishment. We basically woke up to have a nice breakfast and then spent our money to hear the back of house team yell at each other, talk about us poorly, and the not even get what we paid for. I’d encourage others to stay away, although it seems like most have already written off George’s, we were just one of the last hanging on.

I thought this was a nice cafe overall. The pricing, in my opinion, was a bit high for what it was. They have a buffet option with a few dishes but not very many. I believe the food tasted good, notably the scrambled eggs! A cup of orange juice costs $4, so be aware of the expense for that. Also, the buffet was around $19. The food was good, but nothing extraordinary- there’s a lot of other options in Winter Park for breakfast/brunch. Lastly, we came on a Saturday morning and ate for about 45 minutes, and not a single other party came in to eat (nor was anyone else there while we ate). I was really curious about that considering we were there at 10a, prime brunch time on Saturday. Other than the pricing, the staff was very friendly and food was good. Give it a try!

I’d like to hand out the award of “Worst Diner Today”
We placed an order of two sandwiches, one garden trio of salads, cost $65 and waited 1.25 hours. The kitchen paper was out so no orders were printing, like if you are kitchen staff and it’s high noon and you can hear orders being taken then walk out after 30 mins and ask what the heck is going on.
The lady retook our order after 30mins and then again at the register. We walked back and forth a few times, nothing.
Once it arrived the salads were kinda like warm, supposed to be chilled, the croissant was super small like I was eating in a doll house. Let’s rename the french fries to three times fried frenchy. Could not even open the mayo, they forget to put it on both sandwich’s.
Let’s face it the poor lady has only worked there for 3 weeks and she was the only one working. No team effort and no owner in sight. We didn’t even get a dang cookie. She offered to comp the meal, it’s not about that, fix the food, clean the kitchen and fire everyone except the new lady and let her hire people. Set up the salads like in Petty’s of Longwood and serve it right then.
