⭐️ 1 Star. Never Again. Writing this on behalf of my mom: This is hands down one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a sub shop.
Look at the sandwich in the photo. That is what I was given and expected to eat. Nearly paid $20 dollars. The bread was completely soaked, the sandwich was falling apart, sloppily made, and honestly looked disgusting. No care. No quality. No pride in the work whatsoever.
When I went back to the store to show them what they gave me, they had just closed. The shift lead explained that the person who made my sub was “new.” I’m sorry, but that is not an excuse. New or not, this should never leave the counter. Ever.
What made the situation even worse was the attitude. The shift lead was dismissive, unapologetic, and clearly didn’t care.

I asked for my receipt so I could at least bring it back to the store and speak to a manager. He handed me a receipt, but when I got home I realized it was not even mine. It was from someone else earlier in the day. So now I had no proof that I even purchased the sandwich if I wanted to return or escalate the issue.
That is beyond unacceptable. No accountability, no customer service, and no basic competence.
New employee or not, no customer should ever be sold something like this. Between the disgusting sandwich, the rude attitude, and the receipt issue, this place completely failed at every level.
This location is horrible. Save your money and go literally anywhere else.

I saw so many online and tv adds about how fresh, tasty Jersey Mike’s subs were. So, when the opportunity presented itself I stopped in to one on old cutler road next to Publix.
I was greeted buy employees very polite, started my order half whole turkey sub, half with cheese on one side. The amount of meat presented was small, vegetables were fresh but not much added, bread was fresh and tasteless. Over all the sub was not anything like I was hoping for very disappointing for a 18.00 sub. Could have gotten two great subs at Publix

Our first time trying this sub shop and our last. Hands down, the worst subs we’ve ever had. Dry, stringy chicken, clumped up cheese and hardly any ranch. Staff was very rude, especially the girl on the grill who was too preoccupied telling us to order in the correct place rather than welcoming us or giving us a recommendation. Although, we informed her we are just trying to see the menu clearly from where we were standing to figure out what we wanted since it was our first time at a Jersey Mike’s. When my husband thanked her anyway for her terrible service, she said “uh huh.” Terrible, no People skills whatsoever and no cooking skills. Won’t be back, unless they make some big changes starting with the staff.

There was a time when Jersey Mike’s allowed you to customize your sandwich to your liking. For some strange reason, the Jersey Mike’s in my neighborhood decided not to allow customized sandwiches anymore. I don’t want Applewood smoked bacon on my sandwich, I want ham. I can request no bacon, but can’t exchange it for a different one, which sucks. I still enjoy their sandwiches, yet restrictions are not cool. At all. That needs to be fixed.

Good fresh subs if the right crew is there. The difference between one day will get this place close down. Visited the store yesterday 9/10 and had great service with amazing sandwiches. Go there today and had to deal with a new group that didn’t know what they were doing. Very rude girl making the sandwiches and she was counting how many onions to put on it. Told me she is allowed to put only 3 on it. I asked to put more and she gave attitude. For being a local shop it was very disappointing. Will start going back the one on 120th

I had an amazing experience thanks to the incredible team — Samuel, Mauricio, and Casey. From the moment we walked in, they treated us with attention. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak (which was delicious), but what really stood out was the way the team went above and beyond for a customer in need.

An elderly man clearly wasn’t feeling well and was having trouble walking. Without hesitation, Mauricio stepped up and helped him with care and respect, even guiding him to the bathroom. What impressed me most was the way Mauricio showed leadership by getting the rest of the team involved to make sure the man was okay. It was a powerful moment of compassion and teamwork that you don’t see every day.

These employees represent the best of what customer service should be — caring, efficient, and human. Thank you for turning a simple lunch into something special.

Liked the service, young kids are very friendly and well organized. Price is high, for same price of a half sandwich, one can go across to Publix and get a full one.

Great service and solid food. This is the 3rd time I visit. I am greeted and taken cared of quickly. The big kahuna cheese steak was delicious. The salad tasted fresh and was crisp. Their cookies are solid too.

UPDATE 4/29/25:
I had another disappointing experience at Jersey Mike’s. Yesterday (Wednesday, 3:00 PM), I went by and saw the same employee with very messy hair, still not wearing a hairnet, in clear disregard of basic hygiene protocols. This left me grossed out, and I decided not to order.

Despite the owner’s prior response, this individual continues to ignore fundamental rules of cleanliness in a food-safe environment. If an employee doesn’t care enough to maintain proper grooming, like covering their hair, it raises serious concerns about whether they’re washing their hands after using the restroom. This kind of carelessness increases the risk of foodborne illnesses like E. coli or salmonella and shows a blatant disregard for customer safety. I wish that I could remove the negative review but this hasn’t been taken care of.
PLEASE DO SOMETHING. THIS IS NOT HELPING YOUR BUSINESS.

The food is good, but as the saying goes, there’s no second chance to make a first impression.
I generally enjoy visiting Jersey Mike’s for their subs, and the SW 120th Street location stands out for its cleanliness and organization. However, my experience at the Old Cutler store was concerning due to one issue: hygiene.

While the staff member in question was hardworking and had a great attitude, his hair was completely unkept—long, messy, and unrestrained. It gave the impression that anything could be hiding in there, which felt unsanitary in a food preparation setting. This was unsettling enough for me to ask another attendant to prepare my sandwich instead.

A national food chain like Jersey Mike’s should uphold rigorous hygiene standards, especially in food establishments. Long hair isn’t the problem, but it should be groomed and secured appropriately, perhaps with a hairnet. Maintaining high grooming standards would ensure a positive experience and attract customers who value cleanliness and professionalism.

If this issue isn’t addressed at the Old Cutler location, I’ll likely stick to the SW 120th Street store, where such concerns don’t arise at all. I’d suggest that management corrects the issue and I’ll remove the review.
