First time visiting Smokey Mo’s BBQ and I will definitely come back. The service was phenomenal. Everybody was friendly and seemed happy to be at work. I ordered the 2 meat platter with 2 sides. The 2 meats were turkey and brisket, with the sides being mac & cheese and the bacon cheddar potatoes. The turkey was juicy and delicious, it’s some of the best smoked turkey that I’ve had. However, I was a little disappointed with the brisket. It was a little dry and lacked flavor. The 2 sides were really good. The portions are adequate and the price is right. BBQ has gotten extremely expensive lately, but Smokey Mo’s has kept them competitive. I enjoyed the service and the food. I will have to return to try something else.

This is really good to me. I got the chopped baker and a side of Mac and cheese. My bf got ribs Mac and cheese and potato salad. The Mac and cheese is creamy. I put my Mac and cheese in my baked potato and put some original BBQ sauce on it all and mixed it up. Very good my bf tried their spicy BBQ sauce and he said it’s good too. My bf said this place out do Rudy’s. So we will be coming back too. Also they have shirts you can buy and also BBQ sauce, and seasonings. Last thing is the banana pudding was good. Bananas in almost each bite.

We were excited to see that Smokey Mo’s BBQ opened in Harker Heights. Their location at Wolf Ranch in Georgetown has been on our list to try, so we were happy to see that we didn’t actually have to drive down to Georgetown! The place is still very new and looks great. There is not a lot of seating inside, but there is also some outdoor seating. All of the workers that we interacted with were friendly and helpful.
My wife got the 1 Meat Plate with brisket, creamed corn, and cole slaw. I got the 2 Meat Plate with brisket and turkey, cole slaw, and potato salad. Our son just got a meat plate with ½ lb brisket, ½ lb pork ribs, and ½ lb of jalapeno sausage, with a side of creamed corn. First, the star of the show, the brisket. All of us really liked the brisket. It was very lean (no moist), cut very thin, and was a little dry, but the flavor was very good, and the BBQ sauce went perfectly with it. Next time we’ll ask to get a mix of moist and lean brisket to compare. Regardless, this is good brisket! Next, the pork ribs. They were excellent. Meaty and no sauce required. They know how to cook ribs at Smokey Mo’s! The turkey was also very good. Nice smokey flavor and moist. I really liked the turkey. Same goes for the jalapeno sausage. It was very good. And the bonus….all three of the different sides that we got were great.
We had a great dining experience at Smokey Mo’s and highly recommend that you give them a try. It’s great that they are now open in Harker Heights! We will be back!

Friendly staff, ordered 2 meat plate with 2 sides. Brisket was tender but dry, pork loin was also dry. Potato salad tasted like any store bought brand, pinto beans had brisket in it, tasted ok. Husband had Smokey Mo’s sandwich, didn’t have much taste besides smokey and was dry. Cole slaw didn’t taste right, maybe because it had iceberg lettuce in it.
Overall, could have made better at home for $30. Not impressed.

I went the day after they opened. There is an official Grand Opening on May 5th. The place is bright and the atmosphere is comfortable, the only hassle is getting in and out since they don’t have much parking. There is indoor seating and outdoor deck seating as well. I like that you can see the everything at the front counter while your food is being prepared. The food itself was really good. I’m had potato salad and green beans as my side with the 2 meat plate which were pork ribs and turkey. I had it one other time in Pflugerville and the quality was the same. I’m excited to have a BBQ spot right near my house! Make sure you download the app beforehand to points.

This was absolutely not worth the money. I ended up paying almost $40 for a 3 meat plate which was brisket and double pork ribs. I got 4 small thin slices of brisket and 4 small ribs that had next to no meat on it. I didn’t even get a full scoop of the Mac and cheese and cream corn. What the heck did I pay for? The chocolate cake was so dry I ended up tossing in the trash. How was I paying for a 3 meat plate with hardly any meat on the plate? I will never order from here again. There are other BBQ places that offer the right amount of food for the price you pay. This place is not it! How disappointing.

I have been to other locations as I travel in the area( No knock on the other locations and other bbq spots)….but This location is complete and well ran( customer service, cleanliness, staff professional appearance, southern hospitality, etc)…not to mention the best chopped beef sandwich in the area. Everything else is good as well.. Big Shout out to Rosie and Marielle!!..These young ladies are first class representing Brand Standards from a customer’s perspective. It’s refreshing to see this level of customer service these days..Makes folks want to come back..This is now my go to bbq spot!!

New location for Smokey MO’s in Harker Heights. You can never have enough BBQ each restaurant has its own unique flavors and options. This was a first time trying MO’s and it was a great experience.
The staff were friendly and fast. Since it’s a new location there was a good crowd but the wait was minimal.
The food options are great and yummy making me want to come back and try other menu items.
Give it a try I will be back for sure especially now that it’s a convenient local stop.
