We plugged the car into the Supercharger and went looking for something to eat nearby because we were really hungry. The place looks quite simple at first, especially the entrance and interior — but what matters is what ends up on the plate, and that was absolutely fantastic.

The food was authentic, incredibly delicious, and offered an amazing value for the price. We were more than satisfied and left completely full, all at a very reasonable cost.

We were genuinely impressed. An absolute recommendation!

Fritanga Florida City is a hidden gem offering authentic Nicaraguan cuisine. The menu features hearty, flavorful dishes like gallo pinto, juicy fried chicken, and tender grilled meats. The portions are generous, and the flavors are bold and satisfying. The casual, family-friendly atmosphere makes it a great spot for a relaxed meal. If you’re craving a taste of Central America, Fritanga is definitely worth a visit!

My son and daughter-in-law (who’s from Nicaragua) just moved to Homestead and we decided to try this place while charging our electric car nearby. Three of us got carne asada, gallo pinto and sweet plantains and I can’t remember what my son got but we all loved the flavor and the bonus salads. A hearty dinner for four only came to $62 with tax! We will be back often. Thanks for introducing this delicious food to Florida.

I usually don’t leave reviews but my God this is probably the hardest carne asada I’ve ever had. The rice was good and the queso frito hurt the roof of my mouth from how hard it was…. I’m assuming the cook was having a rough day.

This was not worth the $40

The place is very clean and it has tables inside if you want to eat there.
The food was fresh, tasty, and delicious!
Very traditional and homemade.
Tried carne asada, pork, tamales, Chicharrones, queso frito, and gallo pinto.
Highly recommended!
Prices are ok, and the portions are good.
Definitely, I am coming back!

First time eating here and was very impressed. Food was delicious and fresh, portions were large, and the employees where very nice. Will come back.

(Added picture is what’s left of my meal after I ate half of it!)

Great location for a restaurant.
The food was low quality as well as the services.
Got my order in less then 3 minutes.
But after going home to eat my food… I was highly disappointed. Rice tasted like the pan they used to cook it in, wasn’t properly washed. The meat tasted like poison. The Yuca tasted like it was old, but they still could make money of it.
And what I mean by Services is, she looked miserable as well as the rest of the team unless it’s only the evenings crew they act like that.

Okay. So I saw all the reviews and wanted to give this place a shot. I came in 30 minutes before closing time and was craving Nicaraguan food. Got me a reg plate of gallo pinto, carne asada and platano maduros with a fried cheese. Fried cheese was good, you can’t mess it up but it is like thick but sliced. Not your traditional squared queso frito the gallo pinto was the best of the plate, unfortunately. The meat, just like everyone said is either a bit dry or too chewy and the flavor was ok for one piece but the rest had a distinct taste I never tasted before. Idk how can you mess up something so iconic from Nicaragua. But the woman who attended me was great. Very sweet and patient. Other than that, I probably won’t come back. Sorry. Oh and the salad had no taste and or just tasted odd. The picante, hot sauce is terrible. Also the smell of some sort of spray that reminded me of bug spray was in the air upon entering and lingered. Weird.

Food was very good! Says they close at 9pm and we got there at 7pm and the food was still fresh. The staff were friendly. Wanted to drop a review for them to help boost their rating felt 3.7 wasn’t enough
