Every year, in November, I join friends and family for a trip to a secret location in the San Juan Islands. The adventure starts in the dark, with a drive up to Anacortes to catch a ferry to Friday Harbor. This year, the weather was cold and rainy. We had a 20 minute wait in line – just enough time for a latte. The bad news was that the coffee in the ferry terminal is terrible. Still, it was hot, so we reluctantly headed in. That was when my daughter spotted Dockside – a mobile booth set up next to the holding area. We made an immediate course correction.
There was fruit in baskets out front, all the usual coffee add-ons on a counter and a window where an enthusiastic barista greeted us. He bantered his way through taking our orders and assured us that we would have our drinks in (Checks the order list) “Three minutes and twenty eight seconds.”
I did not time him, but it was not long before I had my hands warming around a latte that tasted great. Several of the people we would meet on the boat to our secret location joined us to catch up on personal news and drink coffee. Before we knew it, the tannoy blared the announcement that it was time to load. What a great way to pass the time.
I have a few more trips planned this Winter and I am looking forward to the Dockside part of those trips.

Open on New Year’s day, the coffee and chili were a warm addition to my early morning walk. Coffee was hot and smooth. The chili was also good. Warm but not too spicy
But it was the friendly greeting by the woman staffing the cafe that made my day. Thanks for offering best wishes for a good year.

I was the first customer of the day, so my latte was made pretty quickly. But the truck is staffed by a solo operator on any given day. It was pretty backed up shortly after opening. My coffee was what I expected. The woman was very friendly.

A very cold and wet and rainy day. We were greeted pleasantly and we really really enjoyed the chili and our chai tea latte. The chili tasted homemade with just the right spice. It hit the spot.

My cousin and I got some Clam Chowder at the Dockside Food Truck while waiting for the ferry to head to Friday Harbor. We also got a drink and I got a candy bar. I didn’t see the Chowder on their small menu but saw a poster of it inside the truck. At first I thought they were just teasing us but then when I asked about it, I found out they had some and was definitely excited haha. Get the Chowder!!!

If I could give the service 0 stars I would. The blonde girl working the register was so rude to us and then proceeded to be sarcastic. She refused to add some ice cubes to my drink upon request ??? and it’s my friends birthday no less. Granted, she didn’t know it was his birthday but it was an unpleasant way to start the morning for a trip were super excited for. Paid $20 for two mediocre drinks and bagels that we had to put cream cheese on ourselves, that were flattened like that pancakes as if Ms girly sat on them before serving them. Yikes what a scam! Fix your attitude or get a different job if you hate people idk ????

My coffee mostly tasted like milk… I could barely taste any coffee. The worst coffees I’ve had in a long time. And when I brought it back, they had no interest in making it right and instead charged me for another shot.
Bad coffee. Bad customer service.

Had a very mediocre (but not bad!) cup of coffee here. There isn’t really another option so beggars can’t be choosers! Super friendly staff. Fun to gab with for a minute or twelve while waiting for the ferry!

It was closed, so I’m unable to offer a real response. Closed on a Tuesday at 4:30. Because of the off season?

The dark curly-haired young woman working on the afternoon of 09/11 was surly and irritated by an order of 2 mochas. She slammed the first one down and when I said “I had 2” she replied “I can only make one at a time” in a very angry, huffy tone. Wide eyed looks from all the customers waiting. It also took her about 12 minutes to make the mochas. Perhaps she was having a bad day, perhaps she was feeling overwhelmed and needed more help, but I don’t feel that should have been taken out on me for placing an order. Hopefully things get better for her.
