Reviews
Went here with my wife’s family the past weekend and we loved it. They have been here in the past but this was my first time. Usually they are packed so we are lucky we were able to snag a table.
We started off with chips and guac and it was delicious! They kept bringing hs chips and they also gave us more salsa. They do not cheap out here!
I forgot the name of my meal but it was a Mexican Pizza essentially. Came on a crispy tortilla topped with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, onions, avocado, chicken, chorizo, steak, and pork. It was beyond filling and I had to bring a quarter of it home. My wife got the steak fajitas and she loved it!
When we left I forgot my to go container but I called them up and they stayed open after close so I could come back and pick it up.
Overall amazing food, friendly staff and cozy atmosphere!
The food was fresh and did not feel greasy. Their tortilla chips were a little stale but still decent to eat. We loved their steak green sauce enchilada, Horchata and Passionfruit natural juice. They have really good service, the serve was attentive and came to our take to make sure we had everything we needed. Parking is limited on site.
I am a Gringo, but kind of an expert with Mexican Food. And my Spouse is from Mexico.
We ate here Sunday, 04/27/25, around 3:00 p.
It was our first visit.
The food was very good!
Pros:
BYOB, Clean appearance, good decor, and a very clean and updated bathroom.
Server Ozzy was friendly, accommodating.
Fair prices.
2 Salsas; Red and Green a little spicy.
2 other different Salsas; Roja y Verde were very spicy! Just ask!
Fresh and Very Good!
Food:
Tamales Verde y Mole
Sopes de Pollo
Enchiladas con Pollo y Mole Oaxaquena
Cons:
Parking a little tight, but there is additional out back.
Although very tasty, the Tamales were very small.
The Mole Oaxaqueña needs to be a bit more spicy to be authentic.
We will definitely be back for more!!!
The Server ( who was not the owner ) does a great job! Ask for Ozzy!
SECOND VISIT / SECOND REVIEW…..
We ate here a second time, Sunday 07/27/25.
The first time I had given a very good review.
This review is opposite of that.
The place had two other tables seated. I ordered the Enchiladas de Mole Poblano con Pollo, which comes with Rice and Beans.
The Enchiladas were filled well with chicken but were only three.
The issue was the Rice & Beans; literally two table spoons of rice, two tablespoons of beans. I advised the server. She said “Oh you can ask for more” (?) Not saying if there would be an additional fee or not. I said for a $16. Entree, it should come out with adequate portions.
Shortly there after the manager / owner came out and asked about things. I explained everything over again. And then he made things worse by saying the following:
“You can ask for more” ( Rice & Beans )….. ‘we don’t give Americans much Rice and Beans as they don’t seem to eat much of it, the plates have a lot left, being thrown out’
I was shocked! The portions are very skimpy because I am a white American and assumptions are that I do not like or want much Rice and Beans??? Wow serving different portions based on ethnicity? Not good.
He was also advised that the Huaraches are a bit small.
I further shared my view point with him. My Husband a Mexican-American was present. The owner relayed to him in Spanish that he hopes we will return.
Summary:
I hope the owner does not continue the bad business practices as outlined above.
As for us, it is doubtful we will be returning.
PIC OF CHECK ATTACHED.
Other pics of food are from the first visit which had more portions.
I was surprised to see a chorizo and potato pambazo on the menu, for example.
Yes, it has all the usual items that Americans who know nothing about Mexican food order (burritos anc chimichangas), but it had sopes and huaraches. I’ll be back to sample more items.
