Vanessa’s Bistro 2 is a Vietnamese restaurant conveniently located on the popular Locust Street in Walnut Creek, an area known for its many great dining options.
A couple of days ago, we decided to give it a try. We ordered two drinks and several recommended tapas-style dishes, including chicken wings, chicken spring rolls, salt and pepper shrimp, and carpaccio. The food was decent, and the service was friendly and attentive.
Overall, it’s a solid spot, and I’d recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a casual Vietnamese fusion experience.

We stumbled upon this spot on our way to another one and it did not disappoint! We were lured by their Taco Tuesday happy hour – 2 tacos+margarita- and let’s just say that both the tacos and the margarita were GOOD! I will definitely be back and sharing with my sphere! -Courtney Bolger, REALTOR® eXp Realty

Delicious food! Portions are smaller but I enjoy them, and they are great to get several and mix and match. Delicious flavors, fast and friendly service and a pretty extensive menu (especially seafood options). Drinks are great too – absolutely recommend this place for gathering with friends.

Unique dishes, jumbo prawns with garlic noodles were little too salty for my taste but it was delicious. The Ahi tuna was fantastic, nicely presented, atmosphere is very cozy and nice. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. The price is little bit high but it was worth it.

Went on a Saturday night. Great food, quick service, but very small portions for the price. The calamari was delicious, but several other restaurants within a few blocks offer calamari at a lower price or much larger amount. The menu on the website has outdated pricing, but I attached the menu from when I went in Aug 2022.
Many of the restaurants in downtown Walnut Creek, including Vanessa’s, offer great happy hour menus/prices though. I’d recommend this place for happy hour. The Moscow mule was good, had the perfect amount of “kick”. Spring rolls were also good and the bean sauce was also a bit spicy but delicious with or without it.

Got the garlic noodles with beef cubes and chicken along with a Buddha beer. Very tasty. The server and bartender Mike is a great guy. Excellent food and service. Will be back again soon.

My first time having dinner here at Vanessa Bistro with a French Twist. The food were delicious. We ordered a slow oven roasted pork, fresh prawns spring rolls, vermicelli noodle salad & Lychees martinis. Yum! In addition to the delish food. The staff were very pleasant, attentive and provided us an excellent service! I highly recommend this place.

Came here with a friend and had a legit dinner. The lemongrass chicken was unreal. It had a peanut sauce that was delicious. The chicken wings were a close second. I know what you’re thinking, “If I wanted wings, I’d go to BWW.” These are not those wings. These wings have a flavor touched by the food gods. While the prawns and the tacos were good, they were missing a little something, so I added the sauce from the lemongrass chicken and that did the trick. Overall atmosphere was legit. I’ll def go back.
