Long Road Distillers was born from the belief that making world-class spirits means never taking shortcuts along the way. After becoming the first craft distillery in Grand Rapids, MI, we formed relationships with local farmers to bring that mission to Grand Rapids’ West Side neighborhood. Each spirit produced at Long Road Distillers is milled from locally sourced ingredients, fermented, and distilled on-site. The result is an uncompromised lineup of spirits including Vodka, Gin, Whisky and more. Our spirits, along with a handcrafted collection of cocktails and farm-to-table food can be enjoyed at our Tasting Rooms in Grand Rapids and Grand Haven.

TLDR: this review is based on multiple visits by ourselves and with friends. The cocktails are wonderful!
We may update this later as we come back to taste everything on the summer cocktail menu. The atmosphere is great whilst sitting outside in downtown Grand Haven- right in the middle of the social district area.
So far, we have tried the Madeline La Framboise- sweet and delicious), the Bare In Puerto Rico ( not my favorite but everyone else that has ordered it has loved it), the Grand Trunk Railroad (the perfect combo of sweet and bitter), the Blood Orange Americano (not too sweet, and deliciously fruity), the Isengard (my favorite drink so far!), the Take me To Jamaica (a tropical retreat in the mouth), and the Midwest Old Fashioned (a stand up drink for Long Road, for sure!). The drink I was most enamored with was the Isengard. The guest time we visited, I had ordered the Bare in Puerto Rico, and he had ordered the Isengard, but I couldn’t drink the Bare… as it tasted very strong to me and very sweet- I tasted his Isengard, and normally I have a strong aversion to cucumber- but the dill set this drink off in a surprisingly non-pickly way. I loved it! Super refreshing and unique!
On one occasion, we ordered the Hummus Plate, which was light and good, but we struggled with the crunchy veggies because we are weirdo adults with braces . Our server took notice and brought us some bread that they baked for us on the spot- it was soft and wonderful! I can’t recall the server’s name, but she was wonderfully attentive and friendly.
The most recent time we visited, the servers were attentive, but asked us every twenty minutes if we were done with the menus and ready to cash out, which was a bit annoying and off-putting. We felt as if we were being rushed out the door, which is strange for a 4 top who ordered something new every time our table was visited. Perhaps after Covid, everyone thinks that people will be happy to eat out at restaurants regardless of the service, but we are not those people. Service matters, and when bored teens seemingly rush their patrons out in the middle of the afternoon, this can have an effect on restaurant patronage and sales.
If I were managing, I might mention this to the staff.
We will definitely return for more unique and tasty cocktails, and perhaps even have a meal some time!

7/28/2025: updating my review as we’ve been here many times since our original visit. Sat outside last night. Drinks and food were great (Madeline cocktails, burgers, and chicken wrap). Service was pretty good but did feel like it took a while to receive our food.
2021: It was simple to use Resy to make the reservation. Lots of communication for when our table was ready. My husband and I completely recommend the burger deal (choice of 1 of 3 burgers, unlimited fries, and cocktail for $13/person). Burgers were cooked perfectly, fries were so good as were the drinks. We also ordered the Mediterranean hummus app which was good. Service was great as well. We’ll be back!!

The food was pretty good overall! The salmon bowl, though, was a bit too spicy for me… would’ve been nice if that had been mentioned on the menu. Other than that, no complaints!

This place is a hidden gem. Probably the best burger in the area and the fries alone are worth a trip. The salad was a bit off, but the service is good and the drinks are excellent. Thesmoked whitefish dip was pretty good and the scallops were cooked perfectly. The steak was a bit overdone, but still tender. If you’re in the area I would highly recommend giving this place a try.

I got a whiskey sour and it was so good! My husband got cinematic old fashion, so good and cute. We got two apps, the fries and spinach dip. Portions we huge, we took 1/2 home!

Stopped in for a bite after a brutally long day. Staff was fantastic. Friendly and accommodating without being fake nice. Drinks were delicious. Food was solid.
Don’t be afraid of the Holiday in the Sun non-bourbon drinkers. This is a refreshing well-balanced cocktail.
The batter on the fish was a too delicate for my liking, but the fish was well seasoned and cooked perfectly.

Nice place to go on a Sunday, the kids can play in the closed street, right by the tables outdoor. Service was good. The fries with truffle aïoli were the only thing we ordered with our cocktail and were very tasty.
