Platillo Al Gusto came with eggs over easy, refried beans, rice, grilled steak with cheese and avocados. The refried beans were really good, not salty. The biscuits and gravy was nice, the biscuits were small but fluffy and really good. The ranchero skillet was perfect. The hash browns came with bell peppers, and onions, cut small and nice on every bite. I wish I would have ordered more refried beans to eat with the hash browns. The coffee was super hot and was refilled constantly. I seen a tortilla soup come out the window and it looked amazing. I can’t wait to come back and try that dish.

Great food and service. My husband says the biscuits & gravy are the best he’s ever had. The Ranchero Skillet has crispy hashbrowns, and the eggs are always fluffy and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend this small, family-owned restaurant for breakfast food.

Stopped in for a light breakfast on Thursday morning. I enjoyed the Cinnamon Bread French Toast with sausage links. The staff are very friendly and prompt and I enjoyed visiting with them. I hope you enjoy your meal as much as I did.

Food is delicious, this is such a hidden gem, I’ve lived in crystal my whole life and after visiting I will be telling everyone to come! The customer service is over the moon and the food is outstanding and quite fairly priced. The vibe of the cafe is laid back, family owned and is what makes the experience so much better. Please try if you’re in the area and looking for a good breakfast or lunch!

On our quest to try a new family owned business on Saturdays for brunch we headed over to Family Cafe & Diner. We couldn’t be happier. It’s a quiet, clean establishment with very friendly staff. Our food was excellent, and very affordable ($40 for two adults for meals, plus a side and drinks is wonderful for a budget). I had biscuits & gravy, and a side of hashbrowns. My eggs were perfectly over easy, and when I asked them to make my hashbrowns super crispy they were right on top of it. My husband had the jalapeño burger, and said it was fantastic and cooked to his preference. Employees seemed so happy to be there, singing in the kitchen which made us smile. We will become regulars!

This is a local breakfast and Hispanic staple in Crystal. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is not over the top, but its solid and hits the spot. What more do you need? Its a solid breakfast spot, with good food, good people, and good prices. If you live in the area, make this your go-to breakfast spot. If you’re in the area wanting breakfast, you can’t go wrong.
