I went it twice once when the owner was working and she was very attentive and accommodating with things I didn’t know about. Mainly went in to practice pool and they have a nice clean setup with chalk block for ur hands if u have sweaty palms like me. But second time customer service was horrible and rude, definitely felt unwelcome, felt alienated I was the only person on color in the store and seems like the young blond Caucasian employee working on Wednesday Jan 21 around 6pm. Only cared about talking to people that were her same ethnicity, unwilling to help or answer my questions although I tipped her. I also accidentally used the women’s restroom because the signs are genuinely confusing, it’s literally a faded picture of male and female snapshots of pubic hair. No signs saying men or women, I’m all for unisex restrooms but they need to be clearly labeled. I have glaucoma and this can definitely turn into a lawsuit, I also expressed to the younger female employee that the sings were confusing and I accidentally used the wrong restroom to be courteous and let her know that it was my mistake and there was no one in there I was just washing my hands. I recommend that they add a little men’s and women sign or something because the signs that exist right now, are artistic but not helping people with visual disabilities . I won’t sue because it’s a woman owned and run business and really respect the owner and women in general, but that employee is one of the worst customer service experience I ever experienced in Humboldt almost makes me not want to come back again, I tipped her too. If the owner wants to reach out and resolve this is be happy to change my review because the experience in there is better when the owner is working on the floor. All this employee did was dance around and talk about her trip to Maryland while ignoring me, is it my ethnicity or is it cuz I didn’t tip her enough but either way it’s rude and rather not interact with her ever again. Very high price point for the customer service experience I got, I had to go elsewhere and vent this is not a good employee and she is making the whole business look bad. There are a lot of rich clients who are people of color in the in the area and alienating them is not good for business. I’m actually majoring in MBA and took a business psychology class, I have empirical evidence that employees like her cause major dips in revenue long term. So I’m happy to talk feel free to reach out, she present herself and friendly and nice but the real colors show in about 5 mins.

I have frequented this place a lot and have always been very pleased by the service in always received. They have an exceptionally awesome blond bartend who works Sunday afternoons to evening and seen her work other places. She serves you with a smile and grace, but the best thing is that she is very personable to talk to, but gives everyone that same feeling of importance. Thank you blonde hair girl with the weird laugh, and east coast vibe.

The food at this bar has no business being so good! You can tell the chef takes an incredible amount of pride in what he serves. The Caesar salad I was served would be $25 anywhere else but was under $10. Delicious.

Seems nice but service is poor and beer was expensive. The bartender said the kitchen was closed, then they served food to very next customers. Not sure if they just didn’t like me, or if they are just very in inconsistent. Disappointed.

Excellent place! So many positives to say. Bar stools are cushy and comfortable, the fries were perfect and some of the best I’ve had in Arcata (not sure why it’s so hard for other places to get dang fries right but these folks have it dialed!) The sound is well balanced. The cook and bartender/owner were so nice. My friend also mentioned no less than 4 times how clean the place is.
It’s obvious they care about making this a comfortable place to be!
