This is a quick food shop that’s just a little longer than far food, so about 10-15 minute waits. It’s definitely good. I made sure to check what was in the bowls. You have your choice of meat or meat substitute, so you can avoid allergens and you can accommodate vegetarian tastes. They even have a fried egg as an option, so if you aren’t into or can’t have the vegetarian meats, there is another choice instead of having to skip a protein altogether.
That said, the bowls can be done with both rice and bean sprouts, so you can do pretty well either way. I had the vermicelli and enjoyed the fresh cucumber on top as well s the crunch of the cabbage pieces inside.
I will say that the sauce set that comes with it are mild, but do enhance the flavor and experience. They offer soy milk as well as lemonade and an avocado-honeydew melon smoothie. So if you want to try something less common, they have it. I also got a mini sandwich to try the mackerel pike. It’s like a roasted, milder sardine flavor. Not at all bad against the crunch of the bread. Even my friend liked it more than the pork.
The seating isn’t too cramped and fairly comfortable around small, round tables with faux greenery mixed with live plants to make the place feel more like summer indoors. The music is present, but not intrusive. You can share lunch with a friend and still carry on a conversation.
Basically, I’d say you should go if you have been wanting to try the flavor set but not get overwhelmed. It’s tasty and filling!

Got the mini chicken banh mi. reasonable price and tastes good. The viet coffee is also good and will keep you awake. Nice chill vibes interior. I want to try the ube version of the viet coffee next time

This is the “meatball” bahn mi. My girlfriend swears by this place, so this is very disappointing. We ate in the dining area and our sandwiches were cold and soggy upon being served to us. The meat didn’t look or taste like it was cooked. Gross.

Food – my husband and I both ordered bowls. Samyang noodles for us both. He got beef and sausage. I got meatball, shrimp and pork belly. We also ordered the veggies on ours. We love spicy so we also ordered a side of their chili sauce and it’sa must for spicy food lovers. I tasted my husband’s too. My favorite meats are the shrimp and pork belly. We both ordered the egg.
Drink – the Vietnamese egg coffee was phenomenal! We also ordered the passion fruit tea and the honeydew melon tea. The honeydew tea was amazingly delicious.
Service- you order at the register, sit down and they bring your order to your table. The young lady was very helpful and friendly.

I am discerning when it comes to Vietnamese sandwiches, and this cute Banh mi shop has won me over. My first experience with their grilled pork Vietnamese sandwich was exceptional. The chili sauce added an extra layer of flavor. The Vietnamese Iced coffee was also perfectly prepared. They offer a variety of banh mi options, as well as other dishes that I look forward to trying. I highly recommend this establishment.

My first experience at this place and it didn’t disappoint one bit. I got the large 88 Special with everything on it and I regret nothing. All of the meat was cooked well, the house sauce was addictive, and the Bahn Mi bread was out of this world. I will be back, and I’ll most likely buy extra bread for home.

This place gets 5 star cause the bread was spot on. Nice crunch and very fresh. I like that they warm up the sandwich for you. The size of this sandwich is perfect. A decent foot long baguette. Worth the $12 I paid.
The ingredients inside were so good and you can tell the meats were made in house. Love the crispy pork belly that is in the special along with the Vietnamese style meats. The fresh cilantro and the pickled daikon and carrots were nice and crunchy. The spice level was perfect.
The pate was also extremely delicious. This sandwich hit all the right flavour notes in my mouth

On my way home from Royal Oak, I decided to check Yelp for nearby restaurants to try and came across 88 Bánh Mì & Bowl — a beautiful Vietnamese spot with a modern, earthy vibe. It’s great for both dine-in or grab-and-go.
From the moment I walked in, Joyce was amazing and incredibly helpful. She answered all my questions about the menu and gave thoughtful recommendations on both food and drinks.
I ordered a rice bowl with grilled pork, steak, and shrimp — and it did not disappoint. The flavors were bold and layered, with a mild kick of spice that added just the right amount of heat without being overpowering.
For my drink, I tried the Honeydew Fruit Tea. It was a bit sweeter than I prefer, but that was on me — I later learned you can customize the sweetness level.

Came back again. This time to try something new. Had the shrimp Banh Mi. Not bad. Updated menu. Even better. This place is constantly growing and changing for the better. Nice!

This was our second time coming here. We came here when this place was basically a few days old. Now that they have been open for awhile now, they did make a lot of improvements.
They improved on the decor. They offer free water and a self serve table. The meat and vegetables are more abundant. Solid taste. Not bad. Not the best in the world but decent.

Saw this place advertising online so I give it a try. Looks pretty good when food reviewer was talking about it. Well they are wrong. Banh mi sandwich and vermicelli bowl is not bad it kinda bland. Even with fish sauce and chilies. Their appetizers or snacks are terrible. They basically reheat them in the air fryer for a couple second and serve it to you. I never had lukewarm fish ball or egg roll. Because they didn’t reheat properly, egg roll was soggy and cold in the inside. Imagine that. Cold and soggy egg roll. I am used to fresh flan from bakery so their flan dessert is terrible. Store bought flan and dump them in a cup.
Maybe I am picky but other people seems to enjoy their food.
