This restaurant is a gem – we can’t stop coming back! Have eaten here about five times and the quality is consistent. The sushi is jam-packed with fresh fish, beautifully presented, and delicious. The lunch menu is available on Saturdays and is very reasonable. The pad thai is delicious, too. Service is friendly and attentive. We’ll be back again soon and look forward to working our way through the entire menu! A top notch restaurant!

Excellent dining experience at SALTWATER Kitchen & Sushi in Mt. Airy. Quality sushi and sashimi in a casual atmosphere.

To start we had the Sashimi Moriawase. It was fresh and had a great presentation. For entrees we had the Saltwater Seafood, large sea scallops, hibachi steak and shrimp, and two rolls. The Chef’s Special Volcano roll (grilled, salmon, tuna, yellowtail, chef’s sauce) and the garden roll (cucumber, avocado topped with avocado and mango). The scallops melted in your mouth, and the volcano roll was fire. See for yourself.

The service was outstanding. Server was attentive and did an excellent job of explaining many of the items and his personal recommendations to us.

We were happy to try here, and will be back soon.

Appetizers were good (coconut shrimp and lobster bites) then it went downhill. The ribeye was seasoned the way lamb would be and served with a giant branch of rosemary on top. Not the flavor I anticipated.
The sushi was no better than grocery store sushi. Honestly, Wegmans sushi rice is better quality than here. The fish is sliced too thin for the nigiri sushi. The rice was hard and too cold for proper sushi.
The waitress didn’t ask how I’d like my steak cooked or if I needed my tea refilled. There was a fly that wouldn’t leave the sushi platter alone. We aren’t likely to return and definitely won’t recommend.

So impressed with this place! The atmosphere was great – beautiful inside and very comfortable. They brought out a complimentary appetizer that was tempura crabstick and it was delicious, as well as complimentary miso soup! We ordered the Angry lobster roll, a roll with cucumber instead of seaweed/rice and a sweetheart roll. All amazing!

Very good service and nice atmosphere. Sushi was well prepared and served fresh. We tried a lot of their specialties and loved the Christmas tree sushi.
Very happy with everything and they have a beautiful bar as well.

Saltwater Kitchen & Sushi is hands down one of the best sushi spots in the area! Every time I visit, I’m blown away by the quality, freshness, and attention to detail in every dish.

The sushi selection is outstanding—from the basics to the chef’s specialty rolls, everything is made with care and beautifully presented. The spicy tuna and spicy yellowtail rolls are absolutely packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. The shrimp tempura roll is crispy, light, and incredibly satisfying. Even the classic rolls like California, avocado, and cucumber are done with precision and fresh ingredients.

Don’t miss the shrimp fried rice—it’s loaded with flavor, not greasy, and has the perfect balance of textures. It’s great as a side or a meal on its own.

Whether you’re a sushi purist or just dipping your toes into Japanese cuisine, Saltwater Kitchen delivers across the board. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is clean and modern, and the prices are reasonable for the high-quality food you receive. Highly recommend this spot for both sushi lovers and casual diners alike!

I cannot speak to the food as I have been here for 20 mins and haven’t gotten my drink yet. They then just asked me if I would like to order food . I asked them when my drink would be here . Will update.

Update it is now been 40 minutes and I still haven’t gotten a drink. I think I’m gonna leave.

OK 42 minutes half the table got drink drinks

OK at 45 minutes we now all have beers but water for 2 people hasn’t come no big deal will update no water before drinks.

Update 49 minutes and we got our water not much ice

They bought us soup. They did a great job after they realized what was going on

This was our first time here. We loved it. The food was great. I got the Playboy roll, and what an umami bite. My compliments to the chef. My wife got the chicken and shrimp. It was outstanding.

Picked up take out and knew we had to come and dine in. Service was swift, and the restaurant was clean and had cool vibes. The food was amazing, my favorite was the scallops, salmon, and sushi rice in the “Chirashi Don”. It was very cool to watch the sushi chefs work. Will be back to try the lunch specials sometime soon!
