What I was served was not “Mexican” food. It was horrible!! It’s embarrassing to think that the owner & other non-Hispanic people will believe this is “Mexican” food. I am Hispanic and have never seen or tasted anything like what they serve. I recommend The Taco Shop any day over going to Cholita’s. The price or the taste is just not worth it.

I checked out their website and saw they had a Thursday Jr. Monterrey special for $6.50. When I picked my order up I was told it was $8.30 plus tax. I said it was advertised for $6.50 on Thursdays. I was told it’s an old website and I said it’s your only website. She said she would let someone know and that it was it. I don’t mind paying accurate prices but I do mind paying inaccurate prices because the owner didn’t take the time to update prices changes on their own website. The food was lackluster. The Monterrey has lettuce, cheese and beans and a few chunks of pork that was advertised as carne asada. Salsa was decent and chips were bland.

Uhhh…not very good Mexican food. Felipes or Mexico Viejo are much better choices in this area. Guacamole was already turning brown when it was brought to the table. The tortilla used for my chicken “sancho” was not fresh and it was flaky thin and chicken was tasteless. I said No Beans….it was full of beans. The Chile Relleno was not tender. Save your money it was not worth the price.

The burrito was smothered with American cheese. The quesadilla was American cheese. Sorry that’s not a quesadilla. The fajita beef was provided as slab/sheets of meat. Not cut or shredded. Beef is poorly seasoned. Or not seasoned at all. Salsa taste like watery tomato soup. We had a gift card but won’t be returning.

I’ve been going here since they opened! I’ve never been disappointed with in house dining…OR….take-out! Family owned. Tried a variety of their menu items! Never ever disappointed! One of their servers has watched my son “grow up!” And we still go there whenever we have time together. My husband and I get their take-out frequently! Fantastic generous amount of salsa & chips. And properly packed take out containers that keep everything fresh as if you were sitting in the restaurant being served it. It’s just really tasty Mexican food with a family that cares about quality and community!

The food is overpriced and no flavor to any of it the salsa had no flavor when asked for hot it seems like they took a bottle of habanero sauce and dumped it in my salsa the lady was very nice but would never recommend this place to anybody could not even finish my food
