We tried both the thin crust and the Detroit deep dish pizzas, and we were really pleased with the quality of each. There are many great pizza options in the area, and Swells is a welcome addition to that lineup. We’re excited to return on our next visit to explore more of their menu offerings!

Follow the beacon of goodness and sign of quality which is the Old Style Sign hanging outside of Swells. Cool bar right on rt 12 in Michigan City. Great food with a focus on Pizza. I have had the tavern , deep dish , detroit and hand tossed pizza. My favorite being the itailian beef tavern. If you order carry out do it online to make the staff happy.

Came on over with my best friend and had an AMAZING time!!! The drinks were amazing, the pizza was even better (Detroit style of course), and the people made it an all around wonderful experience. I’ve been remembered every time now and feel so appreciated! Definitely a must go-to if you’re in Michigan city or New Buffalo!

Came here with my girlfriend just passing thru but so glad we stopped, great service, drinks & food! We sat at the bar and the tender (I think her name was Gabby?) was very entertaining and made sure our drinks were perfect. We’ll definitely be coming back if we’re ever in the area again!

First time visit. Celebrating my husband’s birthday. Live in Lowell, In and staying at the Blue Chip. Wanted to find place for cocktails and lunch. Read reviews so decided here. Not disappointed to say the least. First good sign, busy for early afternoon. Vibe inside was cute, clean, and reminded us of younger days. Peter the bartender was outstanding. He knew what you needed before even asking. Pleasant and made you feel super important. Had great menu choices, difficult to decide but we went with the Detroit pizza. WOW, the best. Served fabulous on silver server. Crust done perfect. A bit different but sauce is served on the side. Had Marinara.. Fresh tasting by far. Peter suggested trying sliced meatballs instead of sausage. Another WOW.. When we left the place of full. Can see why. The only thing I can complain about is.. we live quite the distance, otherwise we’d be quite the regulars and try everything on the menu.

Ordered pickup, large thin crust and decided to try something different so ordred a small detriot style pizza, when my order was ready they were both detriot style not thin crust the waitress did offer options to fix the issue but after the drive time and wait i was already over an hour to get the pizza home so didnt want to wait any longer, get the pizza home and the sauce isnt on the pizza it comes in small containers on the side that’s new to me couldve got a better detriot style pizza at little ceasers. Was a waste of money and time coming here! Tip do not park on the east side of building.

So far this is the best pizza in the Michigan City area that we have tried. We got a thin sausage and a pepperoni Detroit style. Both great. Both the sausage and the pepperoni had a lot of flavor. The spinach artichoke dip was also quite lovely. 3 or 4 TVs with sports on. TouchTunes jukebox. Pool table. Poppin on a late Friday night. We will be back.
