Found this hidden gem out a of a whim and it did miss at all! We ordered the BBQ Ribs Dinner, Oxtail, Liver, Chicken & Waffles, and fried fish and fries! All were very delicious especially the OXTAIL with the sides of collard greens and yams! Will most definitely comeback and try the chitlins! Definitely worth the wait!

Food was really great, BUT they do not service eggs nomore. I came for eggs and grits but got the shrimp with fresh. Sweet tea was amazing.

I absolutely love finding hidden gems while I’m traveling this country, but I was not prepared for M&M’s Southern Cafe today!

I’m from Utah, so I wasn’t raised with that delicious southern soul food that I heard so much about from banned books and movies in our quaint little bubble state. That’s a good chunk of my motivation for hunting down local flavors and cuisines.

I like to check out Google too see what people are saying. Well, I saw this place has a pretty good rating, so when I saw the crazy bad review on here, it piqued my curiosity to the max!

Came here for lunch while we were setting up for the EnduroCross event this weekend at the Livestock Center and ordered the Gator Sticks that came with some hush puppies & I got the collards for the side, OOOOOOOH WEE!

Also got a huge sweet tea and a sweet potato pie that were quite yummy!

The staff were super nice, friendly people, we only waited like 3 minutes for a table on the backside of lunch hour, and I highly encourage you to come check this place out and show em some love!

We were looking for a southern restaurant to eat for New Year’s Day and we got everything we needed to start our New Year. I had the liver and onions, my husband had the chicken gizzards and my son had chicken strips. And of course black eye peas and collard and corn bread. Everything was great. I will go again when I visit Reno NV again.

Good food- bit greasy but thats Southern cooking. Food is prepared as ordered and takes time as this is a small family owned restaurant, so if you want something quick or are in a hurty this is not the place for you. Sometimes there’s a wait to be seated as well. Staff is very friendly and on point! Worth the wait, so sit , enjoy and be patient!

Went for lunch here for the first time because of the google ratings. Environment is cozy but table was a bit sticky. My partner got the seafood gumbo as well as the pulled pork bbq sandwich with a side of Mac n cheese. I got the chicken n waffles with tenders instead of wings on top, as well as 3 à la carte sides: Mac, baked beans and potato salad. All portions beyond the chicken n waffle seemed a little small for the price. My partner said the seafood gumbo didn’t hit the Cajun flavor profile he was hoping for and we didn’t see shrimp n grits on the menu in store but is on the website menu. I think everything tasted good but didn’t leave a really phenomenal impression. I asked the server if they made their potato salad because it reminded me and my partner of the infamous Walmart potato salad – the server was inside and guessed that they made it in house but didn’t ask to confirm, she was not confident about it. Happy to have tried this place but don’t feel the need to return. Spent $80 after the tip but only truly enjoyed the chicken n waffles.

Absolutely amazing place to eat. As someone from the south (ETX/LA), this place rejuvenated my soul and brought me back to life. I’ve been missing so much of the food that they serve here. The fried chicken was exactly what I needed to help heal my soul. I can now feel music again. That’s how magical this place is, as someone who was raised in the south. Absolutely amazing. Cant wait to go back and enjoy the amazing service and food. Thank you so so much for doing this service!!

We tried the fish basket and the gumbo. Both were really good. Get the corn bread! We will definitely be returning to try more of the menu.
