This Restaurant is under new management since February, 2022. Despite seeing all the bad reviews, still I thought of trying their Kachhi Biryani as I was really craving for it. Before I ordered the food I spoke to the person who took the order who was praising their Kacchii Biryani, said it test just like Kacchii found in Dhaka. Both the owner and the guy who was working at the register talked very highly about all of their food saying “food taste nothing like before”. After being impressed by their talk I ordered Kacchii Biryani with some chicken Samosas. They took awfully long time to give my order. Even though Biryani was ready in about 15 minutes but the chicken Samosas took another 20 minutes. Anyhow, I came home with this take out order, after I opened it I was despicably disappointed. Biryani had a strange smell, it was covered with burned onions and burned meats. It neither tasted nor smelled any Biryani forget about Kacchii Biryani. On the top of that, it was overly salty. Next, I tasted Somosas despite of horrible burn look I almost puke. I never tasted such a horrible tasting samosas before even in other poor reviews restaurants. Chicken samosas were not only over fried, but definitely fried in burnt or old oil as it tasted bitter. Meats inside the Somosas had no flavor of spices and tasted so dry.
I wish google review had Zero before the stars.
I am very disappointed after wasting my money on these trashy food from this restaurant today!

Bengali street food, authentic food, misti…

Under new management, this restaurant got a new lifeline. Great testing bengali food.
If you are craving chotpiti, byriani, fish or any desi food, this is a place to go.

Only 4 start is because of their ventilation system in the kitchen needs to be upgraded, lots of smells in the dining room.. not acceptable. Roshmalai and roshgulah is ok, can be better. Server needs to be more knowledgeable.

We tried their shingara and dal puri. Both were good. I would give 5/5 for dal puri and 4.5 for shing-gara.

Chicken biryani is good as well. Just the rice was over boiled. I would give 4/5.

Beef tehari is really good, it has aroma of mustard oil. I would give 5/5. Thanks God that I saw the reviews after eating from that place, I might not have gone there if I saw those reviews before. And this was our first time trying there.

Amazing Bangladeshi kacchi biriyani and chicken roast. Reminds you of home. They also have tikkas and kabobs. And ofcourse fuchka, though we didn’t try it this time. Hopefully the next time we visit DC!

Everything we ordered was delicious, but being Bengali, I was slightly put-off by the fact that their dish names are seemingly arbitrary.
Downside: Paani puri is not supposed to be just channa masala with no actual paani. Shabji bhaaji is – by definition – a dry preparation, not gloopy (this was closer to daal phela).
Upside: The Goat Biryani though was to die for: fragrant, not too oily, with tender pieces of meat.
TL;DR: Don’t go if you want authentic Bengali food, but it’s passable if you’re feeling homesick.
Edit: Forgot to mention that that small bowl of veggies was $9.50. Not really worth it.

This is my second time to have food there, but this time service wasn’t good at all and food wasn’t very good, the guy who was serving doesn’t feel like he serving customer, no smile on face. I ask nan bread or ruti but they don’t have it. Wired……. Paying money for food the service have to have a class.
