First time visiting Mel’s based on a co-workers recommendation. We had a party of 10 for lunch. There was plenty of seating and our server got our drinks and took our orders quickly. I ordered the sparerib sliders based upon the server’s recommendation. My first slider was amazing. Plenty of meat and sauce. My second was light on the meat and the sauce but the flavor was still very tasty. My only criticism is the orders came out at two separate times with a significant gap of time between them. Not normally an issue but one of the three people forced to wait longer and watch most of the table eat was eight months pregnant. In the end, we had a great time and I would recommend trying Mel’s out.

Mel’s Drive-In is such a fun slice of nostalgia right in downtown Nashville. The retro decor and classic drive-in vibe instantly set the tone, but what really stood out was the service. Fast, friendly, and super knowledgeable staff who made the experience seamless from start to finish.

The food was excellent (breakfast all day is always a win), and the waffle was possibly one of the best I’ve ever had. Crispy, fluffy, and absolutely worth ordering. Add in the fun touch of the jukebox you can play with a quarter, and it’s an all-around great spot. I’ll definitely be back.

We stopped by Mel’s Drive In and tried chicken and waffles for the first time, and it was honestly incredible. The chicken was crispy, the waffle was warm and fluffy, and the mix of flavors just hit perfectly. I finally understand why everyone loves this combo.

I also had the Tennessee chicken sandwich, and it was just as delicious. Juicy, full of flavor, and exactly what you hope for when you are eating in Nashville.

Colton, the manager, was so nice and welcoming. Danny was incredibly kind and gave us all the recommendations, and every single one was spot on. The whole place had such a friendly, inviting vibe that made the meal even better.

This is one of those meals you keep thinking about afterward. We will definitely be back!

Great place for a relaxing but yet cool experience! They have a juke box on each table, you can pick any song for 25 cents & it plays in the restaurant. We got seated right away on a Saturday afternoon, I got the Caesar avocado chicken wrap & sweet potatoes fries & my boyfriend got the smash burger. And omg was it amazing!

Mel’s Drive-In in Nashville was such a fun stop, and honestly a nostalgic moment for my dad He was visiting from MN. He used to go to the original Mel’s in California, so walking into this one felt like stepping back in time. The retro vibes, classic cars, neon lights, and diner-style menu make it feel like an old-school road trip throwback. The burger and fries were simple, fresh, and hit the spot, true comfort food. I recommend getting a malt shake! If you love vintage diners with a side of nostalgia, Mel’s is a must-visit.

Sammi was great – she had great recommendations and knowledge of the menu/drinks available.

We called an audible and ate here because our usual spots were too busy. We happily stumbled upon Mel’s off 2nd – this was a great eating experience.

Fried pickles piled high, fantastic hot chicken sandwich (spicy, but flavorful) – fries are McDonald’s -esque… crispy, thin, and hot. Smashburger was phenomenal. We will be back!

Mel’s Diner in Nashville has quickly become one of our favorite spots. The atmosphere is upbeat, welcoming, and full of that classic diner charm that makes you want to stay a while. It is great for families, but if you are out without the kids, the bar seating has a fun energy all its own.

The food is the real highlight. The grilled cheese short rib is a signature choice for our family and it never disappoints. Comfort food done right, every single time.

Mel’s is the kind of place you look forward to coming back to!

Mel’s Drive-In on Broadway isn’t just another stop on the map; it’s a standout experience, even for seasoned Mel’s aficionados who’ve cruised through Nevada and beyond. Countless trips down Broadway, and this Mel’s finds the sweet spot, delivering a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern flair.
What sets this location apart is its seamless integration of the classic drive-in vibe with a full-fledged bar—an unexpected yet brilliant addition. Imagine pairing a juicy Mel’s Drive-In Burger with a perfectly chilled pint, all while soaking in the retro ambiance. The sheer size of the place is impressive, housed in one of Broadway’s towering buildings, offering ample space to relax and indulge. The energy is palpable, with cooks who know their craft and bartenders serving up ice-cold drinks. Positioned next to Coyote Ugly and DICK’s, Mel’s Drive-In on Broadway is a must-visit destination that elevates the classic diner experience. It’s more than a meal; it’s a vibrant slice of Americana served with a twist.

A beautiful place for a wonderful meal! Atmosphere is fun, clean, and fresh. We had the cheese sticks appetizer which was unbelievable, crispy, cheesy, and the marinara was perfect. Enjoyed a hamburger with fries which were cooked as we liked and the house sauce was on the side which quickly made its way to my burger! We also had a chocolate shake which was to die for!!! Scooter was our server and he was wonderful, attentive, funny, and knowledgeable!!! He told us they had just opened a few months ago and would be expanding the menu and the hours, can’t wait to come back and try them again!
