The arrival of a new neighborhood restaurant should be cause for optimism. This one manages to extinguish that optimism entirely — and leaves behind the uncomfortable truth that this is what our corner of the city has settled for.
The grilled cheese (pictured) was, without exaggeration, buttered toast with a rumor of cheese. That such a pedestrian result could be presented with visible pride — a genuine smile, as though something had been accomplished — speaks either to a breathtaking lack of self-awareness or a contempt for the customer that borders on audacious.
One wonders what premium cheese commands such scarcity that so little finds its way between two slices of bread
The chili, at $6, was indistinguishable from sweetened canned tomato sauce thinned to the point of insult. The price alone would render even a masterwork indefensible for the amount served. This was not a masterwork.
My meal should have included a drink, but I never received that.
The meal itself took over twenty minutes to arrive. It was not a lunch rush.
A new restaurant deserves patience and goodwill. This one squandered both before the first bite. If the kitchen has ambitions beyond reheating pantry staples, there was no evidence of it here.

The staff and atmosphere were wonderful. They answered questions about their menu and were kind. The cookies feel similar to me to Schmidt’s bakery. We tried the chili and cheesy potato soup as well. These reminded me of a pre-mixed soup mix. Finally, we tried the spicy pastrami sandwich. It is pictured below. It came with close to no meat. The toppings on the sandwich had great flavor, but due to lack of meat, it made for a very underwhelming sandwich. We might return for a cookie or two!

I love this place!! So glad they finally opened another location! The Bountiful location has been around since forever and they are truly the best cookies in the whole world. My favorite is the classic frosted sugar. And the sandwiches are so good. French dip or Spicy Pastrami. It feels good to support a locally owned family business instead of a chain. And they are always super receptive when I have feedback.

I visited Cutler Cookie Co and had a underwhelming experience. The French dip sandwich was bizarrely overly sweet, which clashed with the salty dipping broth. The flavor combination didn’t work for me at all, and unfortunately I ended up throwing most of it away. That was disappointing because the meat itself seemed high-quality and was cooked well.
The ordering tablets weren’t updated with the cookies they actually had available that day, so we had to place the order verbally instead. The cookie itself was good, but not something I’d go out of my way for.
The most surprising part was the artwork inside the shop, which felt really out of place. There was a random cat holding a cookie sign and another picture of a nude statue with a cookie covering its privates. It didn’t match the vibe of the shop and didn’t feel very appropriate for families with young kids sitting nearby.
Overall, the place felt a bit unsure of its identity. Most of the customers seemed to be kids grabbing cookies to go, but the menu and decor didn’t really align with that atmosphere.
The pricing is very reasonable which scores points !

The food was good. Atmosphere was nice. We ordered our food at 6:28PM and received it at 6:50PM. We ordered 3 sandwiches and a soup. Over 20 minutes for fast casual is ridiculous. They were nice enough to give us a few free cookie coupons.
Then as we were leaving someone in our party spilled a soda. I mentioned this to a worker and directed to the napkins. We cleaned it up but at a place with good service I would hope they would clean up a mess for us.

We dined in and had a delicious dinner. I think they’ve been open just a few days. Everything was clean and plenty of seating.
