Social Profile:

Established in 1999, the Summer Kitchen was the first restaurant & commercial business in Rosemary Beach. Our humble beginnings took place in the little red building– just a walk up window serving the initial few people working, living, & building in Rosemary Beach. Then, our address was 5 Main St. In 2000 Summer Kitchen moved to 74 South Barrett Square, then to our most known location, 60 North Barrett Square in 2004, & finally to our current location in 2015 at 78 Main Street. As has been the case for over 23 years now neighbors meet neighbors as they walk in the door: sometimes on purpose, sometimes by chance. There is a sense of comfort & community reminiscent of neighborhoods long since gone.

Intimate eatery serving homey American fare in a laid-back interior or at front porch tables.

My family has enjoyed summer kitchen for over 20 years. I spent my 16th birthday and recently my 40th birthday at Summer kitchen, that’s how much we love it and the owners. My favorite will always be the spicy chicken rollup, kale salad, And the burgers are fabulous too. At our meal last week, we had the tuna dip, and it was the best I’ve ever had! Thank you for all the memories summer kitchen, hope to spend my 50th with y’all as well! 😉

Don’t be fooled by the years of operation. This is not the spot to enjoy a meal at – food took nearly an hour, and the bartender did not even attempt at a conversation. Go somewhere else. Details: We ordered avocado toast & hog roll up. The flies were killing us, so we asked to be moved inside, but the only seating available was the bar. It is understandable that the bartender was upset, but could have at least rendered some kind of friendly check-in; instead, she spoke only when something was requested. Our server, Alexia, was nice, but she messed everything up from making the order to the delivery. The food for the people around us, who ordered after us, came out, but ours did not and mind you, you do not cook avocado toast! Additonally, I ordered a rollup but instead delivered an omelet. Though it was good, it was not my order. This entire experience was the server’s fault, not the kitchen. And please, mgmt, do not waste your time commenting back because in the moment you failed to do anything even though every server, bartender included, noticed. Once more, do not be fooled by this spot.

The waiter refused to sit our group of 4 people inside, 2 minutes after we sat down a group of 5 was sat inside. This place does not take reservations. The staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there at all. We went at a not busy time with only about 6 total customers in the restaurant (Including us) and the food took 30 mins to come with the appetizers coming with the main courses. We had even asked to get the appetizers first but The waiter did not listen. The food was bland. The chicken sandwich was dry, the salad had no flavor, the fish of the day was definitely frozen, and the burger was overcooked. The waiter never asked how I wanted my burger Cooked. The overall experience is that this place is a tourist trap. DO NOT EAT HERE; the wait for another restaurant is worth it. On the first day we walked past this restaurant there was a huge line so we assumed it was good. We went back the next day at a slow time and it was terrible. Please do not eat here.

We celebrated our daughter’s 40th bday at SK and it was amazing. The smoked tuna dip was the best I’ve ever had and the grouper and grits were exceptional. Thank you James for great food, great service, and a great time.

The first place we went once we arrived in Rosemary and it was a great start to our trip! I cannot say enough about the dang cinnamon roll. Throughout our stay I ordered 5 and even brought one home on my flight. The. Best. Cinnamon. Roll. Ever.

The drinks and rest of the food were equally delicious!

Cute little cafe on Main Street, we were sat quickly and were greeted by our server. They were able to accommodate my special request on my meal with no issues! Cooks did outstanding! Food was delicious, and the salsa is home made and so good. French toast is amazing! We will be going back again before we leave! Thank you for hosting us while in town for the Warrior Beach Retreat!

Had a lovely little breakfast here with the family on vacation. The food and service were both excellent, and they were very accommodating with my son’s dairy allergy. I had the French toast, my husband had the avocado toast, and my sister had an omelet, and all were great! Great location, just steps from the beach. We sat outside and the big umbrellas kept us shaded. Would definitely visit again.

My husband and I stayed at the inn so breakfast was complimentary. We were obsessed with the roll ups. When visiting Rosemary we always went to Fonville press for breakfast but summers kitchen was so good that we preferred it over fonville. We love the area and the food.

We had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. First, the service was incredibly slow — we waited over an hour for our food, and no one checked in to explain the delay or offer an apology. When the food finally arrived, it wasn’t even worth the wait — lukewarm and average at best. To make matters worse, when it came time to pay, they refused to split the check. We were a group of friends dining together, and splitting the bill isn’t an unusual request. Instead, we were told to “figure it out among ourselves” — super unprofessional. It’s 2025 — not accepting split payments in a sit-down restaurant is ridiculous. Overall, a disappointing experience with poor service and outdated policies. There are too many great places around to waste time and money here. Definitely won’t be coming back.

We had a great experience for breakfast here. They open a little earlier than other local places. Tasty omelettes and good coffee. Relaxed atmosphere & excellent service!
