Really good oysters. Definitely go during happy hour for a better deal on the Rappahannock oysters. The oyster chowder was good, but I don’t think it’s worth $12.50.

Kindly staff. The crostini was great as a starter. Beet kale salad good. The steak with the cauliflower purée wasn’t anything spectacular for the price (purée too smooth) and the steak was really fatty. The fish was ok for my taste but my husband didn’t enjoy the plate. We ordered chocolate bread pudding for dessert and looked more like a brownie.

Brunch outside with a friend (first visit for both of us).

Food was delicious but had far too much butter/oil for my taste (or health). Not necessary for food that fresh that’s cooked that well. Excellent, friendly service.

We shared the roasted Brussels sprouts appetizer, the fantastic flaky rolls, and the smaller, still $$$ market catch of the day (whole red snapper work a few other seafood items as sides, on a bed of arugula). All excellent though as noted. I made sliders out of the Brussels sprouts (which I personally would have cooked for just a touch longer); they were great that way. Suggested that the restaurant put this on the menu as an appetizer. Would have liked more arugula to sop up the liquid.

I thought the fish was cooked just right (I like mine rare and love sushi); my friend (who doesn’t) would have preferred it cooked a touch more (she also thought the butter/oil amounts were fine).

Ladies’ room was nice and clean.

Thanks for the lovely first visit.

Don’t remember ever having a whole roasted rockfish on a menu. Perfectly prepared with grilled shrimp, oysters and clams. Worth the time it takes to prepare. While waiting the lamb and clams is an amazing flavorful combo that has to be tried to believe.

Food was super average. The presentation was amazing but it was rather bland. I had the shrimp po boy with fries. The happy hour on Saturday was only for $6 mimosas and $8 Bloody Marys. For my po boy and 2 mixed drinks I spent around $45.

Good service, good gluten-free options, no wait. The specialty roast chicken and whole fish may take up to 40 min. so call ahead if you want this. The catfish and trout were perfect. Large portions.

When you want seafood and creative, bright, fresh, farm-to-table goodness, this is an excellent choice in a neighborhood full of excellent choices. Seafood is your best bet, but they have an excellent burger (“like a fancy Big Mac,” my son said) and a roast chicken that is phenomenal. Great place.

Great choice if half price rappahannock oysters. Bar was attentive in making a great black Manhattan. Great place for team building or winding down after work. Seafood was fresh and tasty.

Oysters are fabulous and they do an excellent job with seafood but don’t overlook the burger here. It’s superb.
