Glad this local spot opened within walking distance. I have been several times and highly recommend it. I’ve tried the rice bowls and my favorite is the ramen. The people running this are very nice and we have had great service. Check it out.

Update 2024: we have visited many times and this continues to be a great spot for our family. I recently became a fan of the stir fried noodles as well! The best around in my opinion.

Also, you really have to try their hot chili sauce. It is truly the best I have tried. They make it in house and the quality shows. I found it mild/medium but it added a lot of flavor.

First time eating here the atmosphere… Is really great! They greeted us walking in gave us some time to look through the menu to see what we wanted, My close friend got Tonkotsu ramen and I got the Miso garlic ramen. Both were pretty tasty and I’d defenitly recommend coming back here again if you’re looking to try a different ramen resturant.

Very disappointing compared to the Woodinville location. The shrimp on my shrimp chahan were very fishy, I don’t know how you manage to do that. My son’s ramen broth had zero flavor, and no, we didn’t get him a kid’s bowl. Woodinville always has very rich, flavorful, and well-seasoned broth by comparison. My rice was good, that’s pretty much all I can say positively and why I didn’t rate one star.

We moved here recently and were excited to see another Akane near our house. Had very high expectations after years of enjoying the Woodinville location, but we’ll make the extra drive back to that one in the future.

I recently visited Akane while making an ad for the apartment complex I work at, doing a location spotlight for our residents. To be honest, I’m glad I did. The food at Akane was absolutely fantastic.

I started with the tonkotsu shoyu ramen, and it was incredibly flavorful. The broth was rich and savory, and I loved that you could make any bowl spicy, which added an extra layer of depth. The toppings were spot on, especially the chashu pork, which was perfectly seared and melt-in-your-mouth tender.

I also had the Osaka-style okonomiyaki, which I’ve always wanted to try. It did not disappoint. The layers of flavor were amazing, and watching the bonito flakes dance from the steam was a fun touch that really elevated the experience.

The Katsudon was another highlight — savory, filling, and served in a large portion. It was the perfect comfort food. Overall, everything I tried was delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. I even had the chance to talk to one of the owners, who was welcoming and passionate about their food.

Don’t believe the negative reviews — Akane is fantastic. The restaurant is clean, the service is efficient, and the food is top-notch for a great price. I’m normally a pho person, but I will 100% be back for lunch on workdays since I work just two minutes away. Highly recommend this place!

Edit: 1/11/25 Went back today for lunch during work. Had the Garlic Miso Ramen and the Takoyaki absolutely perfect! The Ramen was creamy without being too heavy once again the pork was crispy and tender. The Takoyaki was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with the perfect chewy octopus inside, and of course the perfect amount of sauce and loads of Bonito flakes. Service was wonderful and the owner once again was a gem! Seriously go here. You won’t regret it ❤️

All the ramen (two of us got the garlic miso and I got the spicy ramen) were all so bland. We had to add lots of salt to make it a bit more flavorful. I was really hoping this place to be a great one for when I crave for ramen. So disappointed. The Agedashi tofu is unique, with no broth, but flavorful. I still prefer the traditional Agedashi with broth. Thankfully our server was super nice and attentive. Food came out pretty fast, so it made the experience a bit better.

Very good Ramen spot, I’ve been here about 4-5 times and have picked up from them. The frontman is always friendly and happy to take my order. Food is very delicious and always comes out very fast after I order. Nice clean and quiet restaurant, bathrooms are very well kept. I love coming here for lunch and chilling out. (Bowl of Ramen pictured was after I’ve ate some)

The presentation? Spot on. But I was really disappointed tasting one thing after another that lacked flavor. My order was brought to me pretty quick after sitting down. Yet, I was surprised by how much of my food was overcooked and lacked a lot of flavor. My calamari was very chewy and didn’t have much flavor to it. My fried rice was overcooked and lacked flavor. My shrimp was extremely overcooked and lacked any flavor. Lastly, my mochi’s texture and taste seemed freezer burnt. It sort of disintegrated rather than melt. Luckily, I got the fried spring rolls and edamame that helped fulfill my appetite. Overall, not a great experience. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend it to those looking for someplace with rich flavors and authenticity.

Visited this little place. Ordered kimichi as I’d been craving it, and it was good. Not the spicy kimchi, more of the sweet version. We also ordered takoyaki, gyoza, karaage and shoyu ramen. Everything came out fresh and delicious, the ramen egg was overcooked. We would definitely go back.

I picked this place specifically to discover new places to satisfy my ramen cravings which periodically come up whenever I play japanese video games like “Like A Dragon” or “Persona”.
To prepare for this, I actually went to Kizuki Ramen a day before to have a solid reference.
The location is beautiful, a somewhat hidden spot in the Mill Creek area. Plenty of parking, beautiful fragrant lavender in front of the restaurant. Inside is spacious and clean, so if you can, dine in, as you generally should with ramen.
I ordered Tonkotshu shio and takoyaki, since I had Tonkotsu garlic and takoyaki on the day before.
The takoyaki were competently made, nothing to complain here.
The tonkotsu shio is not quite comparable to kizuki’s tonkotsu garlic, since Akane ramen doesn’t seem to have that on the menu. Nevertheless, I thought the broth was tasty, not too salty and slightly sweet. The noodles were perfectly chewy and the toppings were generous. The marinated egg was warm and had the perfectly yolk consistency.
I like Akane Ramen’s chashu quite a bit better than Kizuki’s, it has a more charred flavor (“char shu” ). I will definitely come again, to check out the other ramen variants.
