With a passion for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for convenient, quality coffee & espresso grew and soon after opening our original location in Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon. The Human Bean quickly established a reputation for having friendly and experienced baristas and offering the highest quality ingredients.

This location needs serious district management help. If you’re a traveler and reading this, pass this location and go to Medford. I have experienced numerous incorrect drinks containing dairy and breakfast sandwiches which were still frozen. Talked to management who didn’t care. Talked to corporate who never resolved this situation. I’ll be giving my business to Dutch Bros here on out seeing there is no service recovery.
Addendum; 12/20/25. Was reached out to by management and offered comps for the issues we had. However, the reward system has now increased to 450 points for a free coffee which is ridiculous. The only way to make any of this worthwhile is to purchase the gift card and get the free drink.

not a cafe just a drivethrough with 0 amenities. no seats, no restroom. the taco truck next door has picnic tables. across from a friendly chevy dealer with free ev charging.

Love the clever name. Driving along the 5 and needed liquid snack so stopped by for a Match latte(rated good by a connoisseur), tasty iced hot chocolate(not a connoisseur), Americano was rated highly by coffee connoisseur. Service A+ . Dutch Bros across the way oddly didn’t have a customer when we visited.

Always looking forward my fave go to coffee spot, drive -thru when in town. Hot mocha & Greentea smoothie ..many other flavors. Barista Service always postive, above and beyond at this location. And don’t forget to pickup a few complimentary cute Stickers!

This is an easy in and out. So even if you’re on I-5 North, take exit 19 toward Ashland. It’s less than a mile from the freeway and back.
I was second in line and a gal came out and got my order anyway. My coffee was hot and delicious and served with a smile!
