Eaten here twice now and I guess I forgot to leave a review, shame on me! Awesome sushi, had the deluxe, tiger, mango mania, and yellow dragon roll… All great in their own right but if you love mango then mango mania, a little something special you never thought of the yellow dragon roll with the tease from the lemon, a little crunch then the deluxe, and a classic wherever you go with the tiger. Let us not forgot an honorable mention when available, uni! Typically my phone does not eat first but took a picture of the uni just for the review. Nonetheless I can vouch for the sushi and bravo, it’s done well!

Mikimoto has been a staple of New Orleans’s sushi scene for the better of two decades, but as a first timer to the establishment, it was well worth the experience.
The vibes reminded me of an izakaya, the Japanese equivalent to the hole in the wall with great food and drinks, specifically from the turn of the millennium with modern decor, soft lighting, and electric dance music in the background.
Going in blind into a sushi restaurant can be overwhelming, especially with a menu with so much variety, and a la carte sushi on the side. Thankfully, Mikimoto made it easy with their Sushi Platter for anyone who’s looking to sample a little bit of everything, from their California rolls, to salmon and tuna and even salmon roe. There are also menu items for anyone not into the idea of eating raw fish, including chicken katsu, tempura and beef stir fry.
Service is exactly what you can expect at a high end restaurant as servers are friendly, attentive, and will do their best to give you the best experience possible.
If you’re looking for the izakaya experience without flying halfway around the world, it’s hard to go wrong at Mikimoto’s.

With a friendly staff and great food you can’t go wrong! Absolutely the freshest fish available! The place is second to none. Top of the line sushi rolls and fresh sashimi. Weather eating out alone or on a date this place is great! You got to try it! You won’t be disappointed with dozens and dozens of items to choose from!

Stopped by here for lunch. There is a parking lot which is nice considering most of New Orleans is street parking. The food was great, service was also pleasant. I’m sure we’ll be back next time we’re in town!

Hands down best Sushi in all of New Orleans! Been coming here for decades. They will have all of your favorites perfectly executed! Must try the noodle salad, Yellow Dragon roll and Sex in the City roll just to name a few. Whatever you get, you wont be disappointed! Great variety. Fast service even when busy. Waitstaff is always amazing! Must try if you’ve never been! NOLA local. Patron since 2002.

It was super tasty and fast. The roles were very filling could have probably asked to be light on the rice. Our client recommended the place and order for us all so not sure what we ordered but I liked the sashimi, and the one with crab ontop. All was great.

Nice small restarount near Xavier University. Decent food at affordable prices. My steak teriyaki was a tad chewy, unfortunately. Loved the sauce rice and soup

I ordered via UberEats and it came very expeditiously. I had 2 “special” requests: low sodium soy sauce and extra wasabi. I received neither. This has happened before and it’s disappointing because the sushi is tasty. It’ll be awhile before I order again since other sushi restaurants don’t get these details wrong. (Noodle salad; crunchy roll/soy paper; rocknroll/soy paper)
