This is a dive bar in the most positive, lovable way. Dave, the owner is a one man show except for the weekends. His cooking is beyond explanation. Everything we’ve had is delicious! He knows what he’s doing in the kitchen. And, he knows how to take care of his customers. He enjoys greeting old friends and making new friends.

Foods good but we waited over 90 minutes for our food. Our family went this past Saturday. We arrived around 5 and at that time there were a few spots at the bar and a couple of open table. The waitress came over brought us drinks and took our order. After 45 minutes our beverages were empty and seeing our waitress busy helping other patrons I went to the bar to order. I was waiting around 5 minutes at the bar to order at which time our waitress approached me took our drink orders and brought them to the table. After 70 minutes 3 of our guests needed to leave. While we waited it was difficult to have conversations due to the noise level. I did notice other tables were experiencing the same service. After 90 minutes the waitress apologetically told us our meals were next. Shortly after our meals came. The food was good. I thought the slow service may have been a one out but seeing other reviews it appears to be an issue. It would be helpful to inform guests at time of seating of lengthy delays.

The food was excellent once again but Dave’s Tomato Basil Spinach soup that we had tonight was tremendous. Awesome flavor and just so tasty. I will have it again if available. Compliments to Dave and his wonderful cooking.

First time here tonight with my boyfriend. We were a little unsure when we walked in. Looks like they are doing some renovation. We were there early. (Thank God!) It filled up fast! Now we know why! Their walleye and perch were excellent! Huge portions and some surprise hush puppies we were not expecting…After covid, we decided we were going to go to different establishments and try out Friday night fish fry around our area. So far we have been to 12. This is one of the ones we will definitely be going back to!!

11-7-25 we had a big group of seniors from our church have dinner together. It was noisy with all of us but they got our orders quickly and we were served 20-25 minutes after. Fish of all kinds everyone said was good. Wish they had had clan chowder with the fish fry. Thanks for accommodating our unexpected big crowd.

We’ve been there a few times now on Fridays. The food is very good but expect to wait a LONG time for it. Waited one hour last time for fish dinners. Also, it gets very noisy in the dining room area. I’ll be back again but plan on a long wait at dinner time. Will try their pizza next time as it looked really good.

Have been here for fish many times and it is also excellent… but… Saturday night dinner is THE BEST around. We had seafood mac and prime rib. Everything was incredible service was quick 5 out of 5 would definitely recommend!!

I love this place. Dave, the owner,bartender, cook is a character. The food is always top-notch. Ask what the daily special is and get if you can. This is a local bar in the best way possible. Everybody knows somebody there.

the countryside pub is a great place to grab a drink and have some great food. the bartender(been there 31 years) is awesome. we had the ghost pepper cheese curds, and they were great. also, my group had the meatball sub, the tuesday taco special, and the prime rib sliders. All of us agreed the food was top-notch. would definitely eat there again when in the area. we are a little way from home. we live in Eastern indiana.
