I heard this place is under new management— I am very picky when it comes to Jamaican food, but this place was honestly one of the best I’ve had on Long Island. Pretty hefty portions, and everything tasted great. (& even better the next day) the server was very kind and patient with me. I got a veggie patty and my sister got a beef patty, both were amazing and neither of us can finish ours in one sitting. This place is far from me, but I will be making a stop next time I’m in the area!

On the 28th of September, I went to Shampaige Island Cuisine I bought Curry goat, rice and peas, cabbage, and curry chicken. By the way i paid 50+ dollars for those same food which ended up tasting like water, we had to throw it into the garbage. Also before the 28th I went there to buy soup and the lady with the long mouth gave me a big bone in my soup and she also doesn’t have good customer service, she’s acticing as if she hates me, and it’s been going on for quite a while, so I feel as if she’s making it bad upon the business image by the way she acts in general, and she has no customer service whatsoever.

Honestly walked in with low expectations because as a Jamaican “Jamaican Food” in NY isn’t always good. This was great, 10/10, would recommend. Home made vibe and great flavor. Oh! Try the bulla/dessert.

Portions control is an issue here….I just spent $35 on 2 plates I got a spoonful of oxtails way too much rice and cabbage. Same with the curry goat. But I gotta say whoever is cooking this food is a artist. The flavor was amazing just can’t get over the fact they didn’t offer any gravy over the rice. And again portions were way off. Will be trying the again to see if it’s different. Sorry we started eating before I took pics.

Recently we had an international day at my school. There were over 20 countries represented with home cooked, authentic meals from around the world. My husband and I ordered fish cakes, plantain, and coconut bread. We were representing Barbados and cuisine from the West Indies. The food was cooked to perfection- absolutely delicious! Hundreds of people were at the event and every single person LOVED the food. Thank you so much for sharing your gifts with us- we have already been back and will continue to frequent your restaurant. Kudos!

Under new management, and the food is better than ever, crazy good. Rice and beans are very flavorful. Oxtails and pig tail with beans are out of this world. Highly recommended if you are nearby. Don’t let the hole in the wall look fool you, you’re welcome!

Food was great. Was like getting food from a lunch line. Had mac and cheese and chicken. It was all good. Dining room was cold with one table. Staff disappeared after ordered. Did not appear again. Finished eating and left.

Delicious Jamaican Island food. It’s hard to find good Jamaican food on LI that tastes like food from the island. This is it!!! Food is cooked fresh every day. Their patties are delicious and homemade. The owner is friendly and inviting. It’s clean. Simple take out and absolutely delicious!!

Shampaige on Main Street in downtown Riverhead is a cute looking storefront, a bit bigger inside has an upstairs for staying for a bite and they have a full kitchen and make their Caribbean food there.
This is one of my favorite stop offs in Riverhead – the never disappoint for flavor… they top Indian and Soul Food when looking for something Yum. Love their rice and peas, cabbage, plantains, jerk Or curry chicken.. Also their Veggie or meat patties are good… They often have ginger beer in the fridge or other island inspired soft drinks. Fun to try them while here.
