This spot was one of the most hyped sushi spots on reddit and found it average. The salmon anything was nice but some of the sashimi was bleh. Everything was fresh, no food poisoning. For the price I was expecting a bit more. The staff were nice.

I was pleasantly surprised this afternoon. After a dental check up next door, I decided to hop over and finally try some lunch at Markham Sushi. I’m on maternity leave and had no plans which was great! I strollered over with my baby and saw two other moms with babies inside as well which was awesome! I ordered the donburi bibimbap and dynamite roll on the side to go.The donburi was exceptionally tasty and good! I was so full I saved the dynamite roll for later to eat and that was good also.
The staff were extremely friendly and kind while I waited for order. We chatted about babies and kids and I left feeling such a sense of community that I hadn’t felt in a while! The customers there were also very kind and nice too. I really wanted to compliment the staff mainly because part of the experience is having a warm, friendly atmosphere which was perfect here- along with the food!
The main employee who was accepting the orders even helped me move my stroller back to their entrance door and carry my food for me to help, while adoring my baby too!
Thank you staff at Markham Sushi! I will definitely be coming back!

Ordered their bento box for lunch and it was very delicious!
I’m vegan and their accommodation was excellent as well, they sent me gyozas instead of the tamagoyaki!
The food is very good for the price and filling! I could just barely finish it due to how full i got LOL!

Food was great here. The salad included in the meal combos was delicious, I really like their dressing. The shrimp tempura was good and not overly battered. The fish to rice ratio for the sushi was also good. The only con is the service, I understand the lady was the only one serving the whole restaurant, however, she was not friendly at all and gave an impression that she hated being there.

Tucked inside a non-descript building near Highway 7 and Wootten Way, you would never guess one of Markham’s best sushi spots is in there.
We have been coming here for a few years, mostly for pickup and for occasional dining. The food is consistently excellent and always prepared with the utmost care. Last week, during the power outage in our neighbourhood, we came over and had another outstanding meal. It was exactly the kind of reliability and comfort you hope for from a favourite local place.
The staff are attentive, efficient, and genuinely kind. During our most recent visit, one of the team members (a woman with a forearm tattoo) was especially pleasant, as she always is. She remembered details about our pickup orders and made us feel like regulars in the best way.
We truly appreciate this restaurant and recommend it without hesitation. Thank you, as always, for the wonderful food and service.

Very yummy speciality rolls, the ingredients are very well balanced and taste fresh. We got the Volcano roll & the double crunch roll… The two tempura that came on top were huge! Service was quick & friendly. We came for lunch and we were seated right away.

Decent sushi spot tucked away in a small open concept plaza, no evident signage outside for the restaurant at all (we almost didn’t think it was in the plaza .. thank god for google maps), maybe some would be nice but I understand if people have no difficulty finding it so why bother
Ordered the:
salmon lovers (great price),
shrimp tempura (crazy fresh),
and the hot sun kissed roll –
miso soup was perfect ,
& LOL at the salad.. what’s up with the ONE of each perfectly cut toppings? It seemed so rationed I wanted to give it back to themmm.. (I genuinely laughed)
Everything was good but the fish that lacked the freshness and butteryness it needed to make fish varieties distinguishable beside their texture… basically everything tasted the same and the sunkissed rolls has ALL the fish ontop of it (I’ve had better quality fish) …also the tips of the salmon were darker than the rest, possible due to the ends not being wrapped away properly if that makes sense.
Also completely preference but I like my salmon rolls maki style with the seaweed in the outside
Unfortunately the sun kissed roll stuck to the bottom of the take-away container [BTW 3 different containers were used (which I don’t understand), I think all could have gone in the same transparent container except the hot tempura! ]- had to use our hands to take pieces out which essentially broke the roll, the soya sauce was SO salty .. my lips puckered and the wasabi wasn’t wasabi enough for me/ tasted like the horseradish mixed stuff you get from metro or the grocery store which diminished the meal for me ; there’s a lot going just going on in this roll and I wasn’t tasting much when it came to the entire roll but avocado.
Big menu, will probably be back.. Thank you again!

Really good food and great service. Prices are decent $20-30 for a bento box, or a kitchen special. I had the combo with salmon teriyaki and spicy salmon maki rolls. We also had the chicken cutlet salmon maki and dragon roll. The chicken cutlet was one of the best we had. The salmon teriyaki was cooked perfectly. The servings were very generous so it was great value for the $$. When next I’m in the neighborhood I’m sure to burt again. I’ll definitely recommend this spot for great sushi. The staff was very friendly, service was great, fast service. Definitely 5 stars.
