What an absolute gem! The atmosphere at Golden Star is so welcoming and clean. We tried a few different items on the menu and every single one was a hit. It’s hard to find a place that stays consistent with both taste and service, but they nail it every time. If you’re looking for a great meal at a fair price, this is the place to go!

I took my family out to eat here & the food was absolutely delicious!!!!! My son loved it & he is one picky eater! Lol The atmosphere is relaxing but at the same time; u feel comfortable having a normal voice conversation as they don’t seat u right next to tables with other people at them. They do a very good job at seeing you where you can be comfortable and not have everybody around you. I would highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a nice calm place to eat with great food

Went in for a chowmein sandwich. It was awful and so small and the gravy was not good. And it was cold . Don’t recommend to go there anymore.

Ever since new ownership the quality and quantity is less than desirable. The portions are smaller. I couldn’t believe they cut the teriyaki beef on a stick to a half portion. Plus they continue to have several price increases over the past two years, yet give you less. Overall quality is not as it used to be. The only items I may still order is the pork fried rice, egg rolls and crab rangoons. But in the meantime will be trying out other Chinese restaurants. I miss you, Sandy!

This is probably the one local Chinese place that has a history you need to know before diving into reviews. If all you want to know is, “is the food delicious?”, the answer is yes. No need to read further, order here.
This hole in the wall place used to be owned by a very family oriented owner and staff who were exceptionally charming to be around. They were extremely pleasant, remembering people who were regulars’ orders just by hearing your voice on the phone.
When the ownership changed, you’ll start to see a shift in the reviews. The old timers like me start becoming negative while people who didn’t realize the change never complain. I genuinely believe that this is because the change removed that intimate friendliness the old owners had.
That doesn’t mean these new owners can’t build rapport with us locals, but the old owners had been established as favorites, them being gone hurts a lot of us and I think that’s where a lot of negativity comes from.
The food is great. They updated the menu as well and now we’re starting to see more traditional Chinese dishes appearing like Sesame Cold Noodles (Chinese owners! We WANT to try real Chinese food! Please translate your secret menus!!)
What’s more this is still the ONLY Chinese place that understands what I mean when I say, “extra spicy please”.
Give these guys a chance. They’re not the old owners, and that’s ok. They can be our “new” old favorite place. They just need a little more time to work their way into the hearts of the old time locals.

I tell you the truth, I’ve been to places across the United States and this is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had.
That sounds like high praise and it is because this has remained a personal Gold standard for me.
Wherever I go, it’s hard to find food this good. In fact for what it offers, I haven’t.
I’ve had friends who struggle with breakouts when eating greasy food and surprisingly didn’t have an issue here either.
I hope these owners stay consistent as they have for many years.

This used to be my go to restaurant, however, since ownership changed and our normal cashier/front of the house left the quality and consistency is no longer there. We tried it a few times after the change in ownership and were not able to say it was our favorite Chinese place after 4-5 years of going there. It was a great ride while it lasted!
