Me and my partner had a great meal last night at Leon for our last night in Canguu!
The food was delicious with the signature hot foie gras to start (we shared) then we both had the 200 day ages Australian Ribeye which was cooked perfectly with us and a side of roasted pumpkin that again was so yummy cooked with rosemary.

The night was topped off by our lovely server Angga who was very attentive and chatty ☺️ thanks again for a great meal

We had such high hopes for this restaurant – but unfortunately it was ultimately just ok.
The highlight was the Australian Lamb on couscous – which was very good – and the French Onion Soup and the Soufflé (while not swoon-worthy) were also very nice.

But the bone-marrow was very disappointing.
Very under-seasoned and bland – and stuck to the roof of our mouths.

The anchovies were another disappointment – very dull and uninspired. Some olive oil and seasoning (or something to elevate it) would have certainly helped the flavour profile.

The lentil salad – again really bland and really lacking. Under-seasoned (or under-dressed) – really had nothing going for it.

The complimentary amuse bouche was really truly awful. It’s hard to fathom what the chef was thinking and whether he/she even tried it. Unpleasantly strong fishy taste – pretty much inedible. How can a restaurant at this level get it so wrong?

The complimentary bread rolls were lovely – crispy and piping hot and served with butter.

The cocktails were great too – it’s just a shame they couldn’t match that with consistency across the food offerings.

Also on several occasions it was really hard to get the attention of a staff member – though Ungar was an absolute delight and very attentive when we interacted with him.

The music was inoffensive – but a missed opportunity in terms of curating a French playlist that would have added significantly to the ambience of the experience. Why not play French music in a French restaurant – is this not a no-brainer?

Finally – please please please do the classy thing, and provide complimentary drinking water.
It makes no sense that you’d provide complimentary ice (ie frozen water) but not water. It costs your restaurant soooo very little, but really it’s so the small classy acts like this that help define a positive experience.

If I had to revisit one spot for food in the area, Leon will be it for sure.

Visited Leon for a family vacation dinner after a long tour day, and it definitely made our day! Lovely atmosphere, attentive and friendly service, amazing food. Oh and the mocktail was one of the best I had this year!!

All the staff were friendly and the restaurant interior was lovely.
The foie gras and spinach side dish were delicious.
Beef spaghetti is absolutely not recommended.

This place is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations — the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was warm, attentive, and professional. I had been planning my proposal for weeks, and this venue turned out to be the perfect choice. The team was incredibly helpful and accommodating, working closely with me to arrange the flower decorations just the way I imagined. They took care of every little detail, which made the whole experience even more special and memorable. I couldn’t have asked for a better setting for such an important moment in our lives.

Food was really great. We ordered wild barramundi , tuna tartare, ribeye.

Also, they have parking space for car behind, just 10meters away from the restaurant.

We had some fantastic nights in LÉON Brasserie with amazing service and food!

The highlight is of course the Bar. The Cocktail Master is an absolut legend. Creating cocktails just by your preferences and also the classics are absolut amazing.

The price is also pretty good for what you get and we will of course come back again wehen visiting Bali!

So after trying numerous brasserie in Paris and Marseille, we were mind blown on how it was possible that this place had better quality food, plating, and flavor than in France. Escargot was amazing in that it utilized mushrooms to make the overall flavor very rich. Bone marrow was also rich in flavor and had no weird smell, as some in France did. Finally, our favorite was the foie gras where it was paired wonderfully with the apple sauce (a must order item). In terms of value…cannot beat the quality and price. We loved it so much we came back twice in the 3 days we were in Canggu.

We booked a table and came to celebrate our engagement on Christmas Eve, we were greeted by friendly staff at the door and promptly sat at our cozy table. Wasn’t sure what to expect but the team did not disappoint! Excellent food all around. The staff made sure we were comfortable and made sure our drinks were topped up regularly. I would recommend giving LÉON a try for a memorable French evening in Bali
