I was on a business trip and got taken to 801 Local restaurant — it had one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. I ordered their signature steak, and it was absolutely delicious. Great customer service, warm atmosphere, and definitely a place worth visiting with colleagues to enjoy the experience.

One of my new favorite places. Great service! Food was tasty and the old fashioned drink is a must have. Our server Lillian was awesome! Will be back.

Stopped into 801 Local in Frontenac and wasn’t sure what to expect, but the place delivers. First thing you notice? The giant English bulldog statue. It’s not just a quirky photo op. Strong, grounded, kind of charming in its own way. Felt like a subtle signature of the place.
I ordered the blackened mahi sandwich and I’m really starting to love blackened spices. That bold, smoky flavor with just enough heat to wake things up is my fave. The fish was cooked just right flaky and fresh and the sandwich came together so well it didn’t need any dressing up.
The space is sleek but comfortable, and the menu has a solid mix of refined and approachable items. Definitely a spot I’d come back to, especially when I’m in the mood for something that feels elevated but not overdone.

We had the steak salad and the squash ravioli, which both were amazing combinations and mash ups that we’ve not experienced before. The steak had a little bit of fat with it, who am I kidding, it had a lot of fat on it. Choose better cuts. It was grilled and cooked to perfection and the server did a great job. There’s a bulldog theme throughout the whole thing. Nobody knew the story behind a bulldog. Make up a story. Make it fun. Do it now! Make some story like, Butch the Bulldog, the owners life long friend, were on a walk and suddenly a bus load of Nuns crashed their inter-contenital bus and burst into flames! Butch didn’t miss a beat and saved 7 nuns from a firey death before the fire department arrived. Treated for his wounds and burns the two went on with their walk. Be like Butch. Oh, and they had like extra toiletry stuff in the guys bathroom I’ve never seen it before. It was awesome.

Best prime rib we’ve ever had. The service is great. Mainstay cocktails like old fashioned or manhattan are very well executed. The braised spare rib was great. We will be coming back.

Prime rib and steak frites were solid. Parker bread rolls very good (it’s an ala carte order), shrimp cocktail quality bit poor, but do not skip the desserts – that is the real winner! The lemon cake was simply amazing. Service is a bit haphazard even though every staff does try their best.

Omg! The salmon was amazing! The crab dip was to live for! If you have not been, you are missing out.

801 went above and beyond. I had brunch with my family on a Sunday. They were accommodating and the food was beyond amazing. I was I lived closer to have it more often. The sugar donut holes were better than I imagined – my favorite sauce was the vanilla creme anglaise. The house made ravioli weee incredible – the butternut squash was on the bottom, ricotta filled raviolis in the middle, and covered with a generous supply of wild mushrooms and hazelnuts topped with crispy sage. The absolute best! We split the beet salad with a large supply of greens and fresh red & golden beets. Others in my family thoroughly enjoyed the house-made linguine & shrimp, which was a generous size, as well as the ahi tuna like bowl, with super fresh veggies. Highly recommend coming here!

I had such high hopes for this restaurant when I booked a reservation for my birthday. The restaurant was super noisy and my husband and I could barely hear each other let alone our server. The French onion soup and lobster bisque were good but my filet meal was terrible. I asked for my steak to be seared medium and it came grilled medium rare, next the garlic whipped potatoes had too much garlic and were a congealed yellow blob on my plate with a terrible taste and texture. Our server should have realized by the look of my plate that I did not enjoy my meal but instead she boxed everything up and said we would have some really great leftovers at home and she didn’t offer to show us a desert menu. My leftovers went straight into the trash. To top it all off they didn’t even have a small dessert because it was my birthday. I wish I would have booked a reservation at Herbie’s in Clayton instead of this establishment. Due to the terrible food and extreme noise we will not be returning to 801 local. If you want food not cooked the way you ordered it and have your ears ring all night from the noise book a reservation, if not go somewhere else! If I could give less than one star I would have.

Came on a Saturday night and they were able to accommodate my family of 5 no wait at all which was so kind of them since they were very busy but we managed to squeeze in between reservation times. The apps were very good one of the best crab dips I’ve had. We had the prime rib, chicken piccata, and butternut squash ravioli. They were all super super good especially the ravioli. Then we had two desserts arguably one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever had. Our server Misha went above and beyond the entire night and truly made the experience top notch as it was our first time in St. Louis. Highly recommend the restaurant and especially Misha. Best service ever.
Environment was slightly loud nothing out of the ordinary for a Saturday night.
