I was looking for some Tom Kha soup but was told it didn’t have lemon grass or other veg/seasonings (outside of mushrooms) so I went for the Pad Thai x3. It cost $44 and it was edible but my kids said it had a fishy aftertaste and the noodles kept falling apart. They love Pad Thai. Unfortunately we won’t be going back.

This place is always great. Never a bad time at Sala Thai. The portions are really generous and it’s always delicious.

Want Thai food? You’ll never be upset here. Promise.

At first I thought they permanently closed! Their sign is gone, but the food is still good and they’re still open. Lunched with my kiddos and we enjoyed it. A little ticked off that there’s no notification of a service charge for using a card (of any type, debit or credit.) Please add a drunken noodles lunch special!

This used to be a really great place. It’s a very casual atmosphere. Employer’s kids running around, helping to bring menus to the table which is nice, but price should reflect. The quality of food is about average. Not the best Thai in the area and not quite the worse. But the prices are insanely ridiculous for the quality of the food, service and atmosphere. $4 for a hot tea? What? One tea bag and 6 oz of hot water for $4?? And $10 for 6 pieces of tofu where other places are charging close to $7.99. Them on top of it get charged for using my debit card. I literally paid $20 for 6 pieces of tofu, and a tea bag… Not going back again.

Sala Thai is a wonderful family-owned Thai restaurant in a part of town that doesn’t serve food. I believe their sister business is Aroy Thai in O’Fallon. I only ever order the chicken pad thai and my husband always wishes he had when he orders something else (because the pad thai is the best thing on the menu).

The food is always perfectly prepared. They offer to add spice up to five levels based on preference. My only critique is that I wish there was more meat in the dish. I order the chicken pad thai and my husband the pork pad thai and an appetizer of fried spring rolls.

Sala Thai is the first Thai restaurant I’d ever been to and what a wonderful introduction to the style of food that it was.

Dined in on1Aug,food was excellent, service outstanding. Went in 4Aug for takeout.( That’s how good the food was). Ordered the curry fried rice with Chicken ,takeout was bad the rice was clumps and mushy,no curry at all. Rice appeared to be overcooked or leftover from Friday. Dine in and avoid Monday takeouts.

Legitimately unpleasant to eat and I’m furious it cost me $30. Pad see ew was dry and compelled flavorless. Summer rolls are so loose they instantly fall apart. Only highlight was the summer roll sauce which was unfortunately almost impossible to dip into because of the looseness of the rolls. Also level 2 spice apparently means 0 spice at all so if you like it spicy I guess you need to go higher.
