Small and a very hole-in-the-wall place; rundown and not very inviting. Maybe we were out of place or something, because the service was just bare minimum and not super friendly. We were also stunned when they told us they had NO SALSA! I don’t know if they were out or just don’t do salsa, but that seems unusual and was disappointing. Not much on the menu (and it’s mostly in Spanish, but we know enough). Everything tastes homemade. The guacamole was fresh. The chicken in my flautas wasn’t flavorful or seasoned; dry and bland. The beans were like liquid. My husband said his steak tacos were good and I tried a bit of the steak and it was alright. If we were passing through the area again, I wouldn’t go a second time like I do with other places like Greek’s Pizzeria. I’m actually really surprised by so many glowing reviews because I’ve had better homemade authentic food from my bi-lingual church; as well as from THE BEST I’ve ever had in our own area (Patino’s, Warsaw, Indiana). Skip this place.

This place has delicious tacos (steak & al pastor which are my favorite), friendly staff and spending $17 dollars overall for five tasty tacos with avocado and an orchata flavored drink, not bad of a deal at all.

It’s 4:14 PM, and unfortunately, this isn’t the first time I’ve witnessed this issue at Cafe Rio. Despite the posted time, the food is never ready and a big rush to give out old food. Staff were just starting to put meat on the grill, clearly behind schedule. There’s a lot of standing around, talking, and unproductive activity rather than timely preparation. They even attempted to serve dried-out chicken, likely due to not following proper food prep protocols or FIFO (First In, First Out) guidelines. I sincerely hope ownership becomes aware of how this location is being managed—it’s affecting the quality and reliability of service

This place is broke. Server never checked on me. I ordered 1 steak quesadilla and a coke and was charged 20 dollars. Zero flavor other than the hot sauce. No receipt, and what was I supposed to do? Ask for one? What a joke full of false LAUGHS.

This place deserves a solid five star rating. They have the best tacos in Indianapolis as well as fast, friendly service. I’ve been coming to Rio since they opened and haven’t found another authentic Mexican restaurant that compares.

Their pollo quesadilla is delicious. I would eat it for every meal. If you want authentic Mexican food, you should definitely visit this place. Their customer service is excellent. Their hot sauce exceeded my expectation of how hot it would be and I am very satisfied with it. I love to spicy sauce on all my meals.

We stumbled upon this place on the drive from Indianapolis to Dayton. What an incredible find! There’s not much of an ambience, the place is a little strip mall. But what it lacks in mood , it more than makes up for in food. We’re talking real, yummy, authentic Mexican food. I chose three different tacos and they were loaded with deliciously marinated meat. They were BIG. My husband got a giant delicious burrito. The Guac was fresh and delicious, but FYI they do not serve chips. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I hope I can make my way back sometime!

The best taco in Indianapolis in my opinion. There are tacos and then there are authentic tacos. This is the closest thing to a taco that I’ve had in Mexico here in the states in my entire life. They are incredible. Best part is that they have real Coke in bottles with real sugar.

Great service! Great food! Great prices! Definitely returning again! I ordered two shrimp tacos, 1 chicken taco, side of guacomole, horchata, and my usual hot water. I wish I knew about this restaurant sooner!
