Great place for a pastrami sandwich! My sister goes out of her way to go here. The food is good and consistent. They also have lots of options. A delicious pickle comes with the sandwich and the prices are reasonable. Will go back when I need to pick up a quick bite. No indoor seating at this time.

I grew up in New City and this used to be a really good spot. My wife was in the area and wanted some matzoball soup. For 2 quarts with 4 extra Matzoballs it ended up being $30! She ordered it over the phone and didnt know the price, was embarrassed to say no thank you and just paid it.
It was very subpar Matzoball soup – bland matzoballs, very weak broth and had nothing but noodles and a piece of carrot per container.
Could have just made a 4 quart pot of my own for less than half the price (with chicken) Sadly not the same as it was growing up.

Stopped in to get my daughter matzah ball soup as she was not feeling well. Ordered two quarts to go. Only two medium Matzah balls in each quart. The rest of the soup felt like it was from Campbell’s. Mainly mini string noodles. I could have made better at home. Thought since I’m here I’ll try something famous. The man behind the counter said the corned beef was amazing. So I ordered that to go along with a veggie cake. Didn’t want all the carbs from a Knish. The man asked me if I like bread. And I was flustered. People standing behind me to order. I would have said yes on Rye please but he proceeded to just give me sliced corn beef as deli meat wrapped in paper, threw in a mustard and a pickle and charge me full price for a corn beef sandwich. The veggie cake was flaky crumbs with what tasted liked canned or frozen bag of peas and mini squared carrots. Was NOT good. The corned beef was tasty but dry and about the only thing I loved was the pickle and the mustard. I would have preferred to have been asked if I wanted my sandwich without bread?!?! And I left there with two soups, slices of corned beef, and a veggie cake for $49 dollars. I was floored. Next time I’ll make my own soup! Also as someone stated my stomach is off today. I made my own corned beef and Swiss (my own cheese) with mustard and today my stomach is burning. I don’t normally eat deli meats so perhaps that’s why. I would not go back simply for the price. The ordering process as I did not order a sandwich without bread and pay for one with. And there was one table there and it felt a weird vibe. There has to be a better place! I’m very upset that I got scammed out of a full sandwich also!!!

I went for lunch and I was the only customer. Woman at the counter said they will be right with you. Both people behind ignored me for almost 10 minutes. By then another customer came in. Finally someone turned and said who is next. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and 2 soups for my wife and myself. I sat and the person brought the sandwich and 2 soups in containers. This is the coldest atmosphere ever. The food was good but I wonder, why didn’t the lady at the door take the order? Why didn’t the 2 counter people say anything?

Classic, correct, delicious corned beef sandwiches. If you miss some of the oldNYC delis, this simple looking place delivers the taste.

Good food but nothing special. Deli meats are Hebrew National, so solid generous sandwiches. Fresh skin on fries – nice & fluffy interior, textured exteriors. Efficient & friendly counter service. Kitchen turn around is quick. Good place to stop if you’re in the area. Easy on easy off highway.

Good food. Relaxed old school vibes. Their meatballs are fantastic. Will be back to try their meatloaf sandwich!

I went to this restaurant twice. I got the Reuben with russian dressing. The food wasn’t bad but the second time I had insane bloating and pain, bordering on food poisoning, causing one of the worst experiences with food in my life. Not sure if it was the food or my stomach, but something to be aware of. In addition, the price of the meals were pricey, almost extortionate. A meal that costs around $18, I could’ve easily made at home consistently for half price. The service could’ve been better by far and the atmosphere is mediocre at best. I wouldn’t recommend to an enemy, must less a friend.

There are no good, terrible tiny sandwiches. They really are way too frugal with the portions. Aw City’s kosher deli sandwich has about 1/3 the amount of meat as Katz’s—it’s a joke. . Back in the day, they used to make real sandwiches. They should be ashamed of themselves. Every local deli in Rockland puts more meat on their sandwiches they are overpriced. Never again.
