2 stars only because past visits have been great. Normaly we enjoy Sushi Kuma in house dining, the rolls and Udon are robust, the service good, and the food delicious. But after ordering from Doordash, we will not be going back. The photos they provide on the app compared to what you recieve should be illegal. Pictured in the box is “Tekka Maki” roll on the app, pictured in my hand is what you recieve. Wouldn’t have a problem if the photos were updated to reflect what you actually get. I will change my review if this gets rectified.

I feel the quality of the food has decreased from a year or two ago. I had the Happy roll and Spicy Tuna hand roll. The Happy roll had a soggy and tough deep fried shrimp, and both rolls were on the side of bland to me.

Simply incredible every time we go. Our previous sushi bar closed due to Covid. We tried all the others in EDH and landed on Sushi Kuma. We have been hooked ever since. It’s simply the best sushi and best service around. We always love our sushi and food (son loves his Chicken Katsu), and the service is always amazing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Not much pizzaz to their Sushi, pretty straight forward fish,rice,and seaweed mixtured with Avocado. Rice texture was good but they need to enhance their rolls and sauces. They seem to do a lot of take out or delivery orders, which seems to be the #1 priority which really affects service and timing of restaurateurs eating at the establishment. Bento box order delivered and consumed before 4 roll orders of Sushi served. Presentation and service need much attention.

We decided to eat here for dinner around 6pm on Saturday night because of their sign ‘everyday 50% all rolls.’ The restaurant was starting to fill up but we were seated right away: There were only 2 servers and I had to call one of them to place an order as the tables were getting full. We ordered california roll, tempura roll, rock n’ roll, spicy tuna roll, and maki. The rolls came out pretty quick.
The rolls looked and tasted good but they were rather on the smaller size. But nothing beat the price! Even their special rolls are 50% off. I noticed that there were lots of pick up orders on the table near to the sushi bar. By the time we finished our meal, the restaurant was full. We will definitely come back for the rolls whenever we’re in the area.

I ordered some takeout yesterday & unfortunately the crispy-ness of my veg. Tempura & Oh! Yes deep fried roll wasn’t there..(but that’s on me because I had to finish work before I could enjoy eating my meal). Regardless, the overall texture of the rice & flavors of all the different rolls I had were wonderful! I even ended up with some leftovers & the texture of the rice was still on point. The flavors were still all good which is rare because usually left over sushi is not good. Thank you sushi Kuma, Thank you Chef!
Just one constructive criticism for customers service – serving staff: When you pick up a customer’s order actually hand it to them.. don’t just walk it half way then place it down on the bar & walk away.. it makes it awkward and half-assed. If your not comfortable approaching customers and politely handing them their orders, then you can leave it at the end of the bar, welcome the customer in and point out which order is theirs so that they can walk up and pick it up themselves. Then thank them and wish them a good day! It’s Simple. Easy. You can do it!! I believe in you!!

Sushi Kuma is near my work and I love popping in for what I believe is an of the hook lunch. The fish is always fresh and the Bento boxes are moderately priced, perfect for lunch.

Sushi had overly thin fish and too big of a rice ball. Bento lunch beef was really dry and was mostly chewy tendon with the sauce that attempts to cover it up. Sushi roll was fine but had 0 flavor.
The bento box also came with a fortune cookie, confusing me as it’s supposed to be a Japanese restaurant
