Walked into Mexican rap playing so loud I couldn’t hear anything Tlthe lady behind the counter was rude to me as soon as I walked in, didn’t listen to my order. No pubic restrooms. Rice was burnt beans where purple which might be ok I am not sure but they tasted good.

Update: A year and many visits later, I started to see a lot of inconsistencies in the dishes and salsas. Which was fun for a while, but at this point the street tacos are not what they were a year ago. They are just “meh” now, they miss the flavor punch and the tenderness in the meat. Would love to see the quality go back up, but at this point will be finding a new taco spot. Sorry Amigos, it was fun while it lasted.
A year prior:
What a hidden gem! I’m passionate about authentic tacos and this place filled my heart and belly. The service was extremely friendly, the tacos Al Pastor and Carnitas was awesome. Will be back, many times!

Reminds me of the time I had friends, los amigos, I called ’em. That was before the wild life traveling and hippy-dipping days of ’04, after my 6th anniversary, I left my cat, two kids and wife. This was because the swamp was my family and large portioned Mexican food want on the new menu. At least I have a fleshy human stomach still.

Best tacos around! I’m sure everything else is just as high quality. Awesome, friendly service too. Someone mentioned they should offer chips and salsa – they did when I went last week! Great little restaurant.

This was so good. My only problems were lots of fat in the carnitas and the rice was a little bland. But the carnitas meat was delicious, I just had very little of it after removing the fat. The al pastor was delicious, and the chicken – all some of the best tacos I’ve had. I got chips and salsa, and they gave a red salsa with cilantro and onions, and then a salsa verde. LOVED having both. Red salsa is usually my favorite but I preferred the green. Black beans were really good. Rice wasn’t special, but not bad. Will go back and would recommend. Great price

Wow. I love this place. I’ve been to countless authentic Mexican restaurants in Michigan and beyond. I’ve tried all of the ones in Pontiac and Mexicantown. Los Amigos is fantastic. Their carnitas tacos- a sure way of judging the food- have been on point each time Ive gone. Delicious, slow cooked pork, and they fill the box to the brim with grilled poblano peppers, onions and fresh radishes as well without you even asking. Their beans are also fantastic- something a lot of Mexican restaurants fail at for some reason. I also highly recommend the shredded chicken flauta. I have yet to try their fish or various soups (they have so many choices!!) but I can’t wait to. I hope this place sticks around for many years. Also bonus points for actually wearing masks during the pandemic. You’d be surprised how many cooks at other places think they don’t need to.

My family and I came here today for lunch, we were the only ones in to eat. There was a language barrier with the young girl taking orders as she did not understand English at all. Which is ok, my mom translated and we were able to place our order. 40 mins later, 4 out of of 7 of us got our food. I ordered barbacoa tacos, and they were not barbacoa. It was discolored meat and the taste was bland. I decided not to eat them and order quesabirria. 10 more mins past and my husband and brother still had not received their food. The young girl then says she forgot to put in the order. We sat there for an hour and half of us never got to eat. I canceled my order and we paid and left very upset. I wouldn’t recommend unless u have all day to sit there and wait. Was willing to try a small business but they need better help and employees who are able to use the register and get orders out timely.
