The Golden Leaf has never been as good as it used to be pre-covid. (I think they changed hands.)
But it has always been good enough.
Tonight it was not. The rice in pineapple rice was mush…we had an early dinner and I suspect it was leftover from lunch.
The Larb was tasteless, and the fried food cold dispute the fact that I ordered take-out in the restaurant and took it home immediately. We live close enough that has never been a problem before.
I hope the owners read this and make some corrections. There is not a whole lot of choice in Newberg, and I am really rooting for this place to go back to its former glory.

I ordered the green curry with beef and Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp. The green curry was amazing and had plenty of beef and eggplant. As always, the Pad Thai was awesome with plenty of large shrimp. This place doesn’t skimp! I will be more daring and try more off their menu.

My first visit at Golden Leaf was awesome! The Sweet and Sour with tofu was beautiful, fresh, and the best I’ve had. The Pad Kee Mao with tofu was outstanding as well! The Cashew Nut Chicken was fantastic, too.
I’ll no longer be getting my Thai food anywhere else in the county!
I highly recommend a visit to Golden Leaf Thai!! I’m looking forward to trying more dishes soon.

This place has some really good food. My daughter and I showed up near closing time, and they seated us anyway. So nice of them. We were really hungry. We had the shrimp salad rolls (pretty good, nicely messy) and also had the dish with rice, chicken, basil, shrimp — can’t remember the name. It was very good. Hit the spot. Next time in Newburg we’re going back to this restaurant. I recommend it.

If you’re looking for good Thai food… keep going. Bland… no spice and the curry didn’t even taste like curry. All also they put the rice right into your meal, not on the side. The lady who took our order talked is out of 3 stars for spice cuz she said it would be too spicy so we agreed on “medium” which I figured was their 2 star. Zero spice at all on our food. Just gross. Not worth the money.
