Four tries to get a steak cooked. That’s three times sending a steak back to the grill in a steak house, and it’s still cold and real rare. Would think that the cook would own a thermometer or something, anything to help him prepare meat. When it came back and it had some temp. to it, I finally settled, how many times can it go back before I have to wonder about how mad the cook is, who is working on my food?
The place wasn’t completely without hope though.
The bread brought was hot and soft, it was a nice touch, the salad, well it wasn’t prefab/ bagged. The mashed potatoes seemed homemade and would have been warm, but they were on the plate that made the merry go round trip to the kitchen.
The poor waitress was trying to make it right, not her fault, the guy in the kitchen just wasn’t having an A game night. I finally took it in a to go box, perhaps when I warm it up it will be more enjoyable.
I would like to give this place another try, because I really would like a place to go to have a nice meal, but not certain I can gamble with another visit. Perhaps time to calm down over the let down will allow me to return.

Unique dining experience, easy missed in a small town. I would put in my top 10 for the city of Independence. Excellent Family Restaurant, good prices wonderful food. I particularly like the sweet potato fries. They are a wonderful side to any main dish.

Stuffed Catfish with Sweet Potato fries (including marshmallow dip) was tastefully presented and melted the taste buds. If you live close or just passing through, this restaurant is worth the stop. Our waitress Tiffany always checked on us and had a wonderful attitude toward her customers.

My second time there was awful. The first time was great the staff was professional food was good. But I took my husband there Saturday 7/9 we ordered never got our appetizer I ordered shrimp and found a blond hair. I’m grey.my husbands prime rib was way over cooked one of the servers was practicing her cheer moves very unprofessional. For the price you expect professional behavior and hairless food. Very disappointed.

Good food. I went with one other for dinner on a Monday. We were seated promptly, and our waitress, Tori (spelling?), was very friendly. We each got salad and bread, neither of which were expected, so that was very nice. I got Cajun shrimp pasta, and it was absolutely delicious. I really liked it. We also got ribs, which did take a little while to come out, but were also very good. Decent prices, too, for the food and service. But this “steak house” doesn’t serve any alcohol, so I just cannot shell out that fifth star.

Excellent local restaurant with a variety of offerings. They have a better than average seafood menu for this reason. The food has been consistently good as well as the service. The live piano music is definitely a rarity for restaurants in this region and really adds a special touch. It’s still a fairly casual restaurant, though.

The food was delicious. I got the garlic chicken pasta. It was delightfully saucy and flavorful. The mushrooms and spinach in it looked beautiful and fresh. The bread and salad that came with it were amazing, too.
Our waitress (Amber) was very sweet. She was helpful and attentive but still left us to our conversation. Perfect!
This is a nice place to eat nice food without being too “starched shirt.”

Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was cooked perfectly and the prices were not bad at all ($8-$12 average with the high end running in the low $20’s). The piano player was a nice addition to the atmosphere.

My wife and I have eaten there several times. The food tastes very fresh. The shrimp is seasoned to perfection, and the steak is cooked very well. I wish they served wine, and I wish their bread weren’t slathered in sticky butter. Overall, it’s the nicest restaurant in town and I’ve always been a satisfied dine-in customer. I tried take-away from there once, and it was a let down, but I won’t make the same mistake twice. Lesson learned: leave it to the professionals.
