Park Gyros is a family business owned by the Bay Area entrepreneur Ali. After coming to the USA in 2003, Ali has been aspiring to create an authentic Mediterranean restaurant mixing Turkish, Greek, and Middle Eastern cuisines. Ali learned how to cook from his father and his uncle – it’s a family tradition. He uses his family recipes and still chooses all the meat himself and prepares fresh kebabs every day.

Reviews
I visited last Saturday evening, around 7 pm, with a group of 6 women. We’d just been to the fabulous Lightscape at the Botanic Gardens and we were cold and hungry. Trying to decide amongst the options that were there (there are many) we saw that the restaurant was busy, and we took that as a good sign. Entering the bright cheery interior, we found a four-top table right away; while we were trying to figure out if it was okay to move two chairs from another table, the owner came out from behind the counter and moved a two top and chairs for us, making a perfectly sized table for us.
As we got into line to order, the people leaving (adults AND children) raved to us about how good the food is, particularly recommending the falafel meal. A man with three children came in and when the kids saw a big box of Godiva chocolates behind the counter, the owner noticed. Checking first with the parent, he offered the children a chocolate and then turned to ask my friends and I if we would like one, as well. Ummm…who turns down a Godiva chocolate on a cold evening?? Reader…we did not.
Anyway, our food was delicious and the servings are generous. We ordered Moussaka, Falafel Plates, Lavosh Roll (one salmon and one turkey), Spanokopita, and Lentil Soup. Everyone was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The owner served us complimentary Turkish tea that had a nice light cardamom flavor. At the end of the meal, we were each treated to a piece of Baklava. TBH, I don’t typically like baklava–it can be too sweet for me and the nuts too finely ground. This baklava had bright green pistachios, perfectly chopped, the phyllo was flaky, and there was very little syrupy-sweetness. It was a perfect bite of something sweet to end the meal. This is a crazy long review, I know, but Park Gyros is really good. Don’t be deceived by the simple and unassuming exterior…if you like Greek and Turkish food, you have to stop by.
I got the lamb and beef gyros with sauce on the side again today, they are just as good as usual. Never had a bad meal here. If ur in the area try this place u won’t regret it
We were walking by and the place looked so beautiful with such a warm atmosphere that we decided to walk in.
The manager welcomed us kindly, and even in a short conversation, we could feel how sincerely he cares for his guests.
If you’re unsure about what to order,
I highly recommend getting the Appetizer Combo together with the Mediterranean Combo Kebab Plate.
It’s a great way to enjoy a variety of flavors at once ️
The food brings out the natural taste of each ingredient,
and everything felt healthy, light, and genuinely delicious.
The Turkish baklava and coffee also pair wonderfully with the meal ☕️
If we ever return to San Francisco,
this is definitely a place we would visit again
It is so close to Golden Gate park, in a nice street to hang out or walk.
The manager was suuuper nice and friendly, he even gave our group baklava on the house
They were really comfortable and helpful with moving the tables and suiting in for our group, and also adding chairs and tables to outside patio so we could all sit together .
We had appetizers, main dishes and dessert (baklava + tea) all were great.
You would love their food if you’re interested in Mediterranean, Turkish or even Persian food (close).
We had the combo appetizer plate that had a little of a lot of different dishes and was perfect to try new food and enjoy different tastes.
