I have never been to one of these places until recently. There were 2 ladies working there who were very nice. Decent menu, quick service. My only complaint is that there are no low, no-sugar options for the smoothies. That would make me a regular.

There are no vegan options and anytime I tried to get a bowl or salad without the cheese, sauce and meat, there was hardly anything left and no one ever puts extra rice and beans to make up for half of the bowl gone, yet I pay the same amount. There is only one meat free option and It’s not even vegan. Freshens is one of the only options for food at this school that I can have (I repeatedly eat the same food because there isn’t much variety and I don’t have a lot of money to buy more food outside of school. I would love more vegan options for food (a wrap a salad and a bowl of some kind would make a huge difference.

Nice spot to grab a bite to eat very close to Roanoke College campus. This national chain specializes in locations adjacent to college campuses. The chipotle chicken flatbread was tasty, filling, and reasonably priced. My friend enjoyed her salad, though a bit pricier. One odd quirk is that everything (rice bowls, grilled flatbreads, toasted wraps, salads, not the smoothies…) has chicken in it (some also have bacon). Didn’t see any vegetarian options, even the salads. The smoothies sound good – will have to try next time. For an added bonus, there’s great outdoor seating right next to the restaurant and also across the street.
