As I walked in, the smell of cigarettes, weed, and must hit me, food was ok, first time here but safe to say we won’t return. Was informed out of multiple menu items, but not till we were sat and ordering before we were informed. Tons of dead flys in the window sill of our table, definitely decreased our appetites as well as the horrendous smells we were surrounded by. Server seemed very occupied, making multiple trips outside and coming back in smelling obnoxiously of cigarettes, also seemed very focused on her phone, rather than customers and her job, not to mention the service was horrible. Wouldn’t be a bad place to get a to go order if you can stand the smell while you wait, but wouldn’t recommend dining in. With it being a small town and hardly any restaurants, we tested our luck with the smell and bad service, as we didn’t want to go to Manchester or Chester
to have a decent meal and service. Server didn’t give us the chance to look at a menu before taking our drink order, definitely would recommend changing that habit. Loud music and loud swearing could easily be heard from the kitchen.

This place was recommended by the hotel we were staying in. We walked in and it reeked of cigarette ashes. Kitchen crew was loud and obnoxious with a lot of swearing. There was no way for us not to hear it.

When it came time to order, they were out of so many different things and we weren’t even warned they were out of menu items. No rice, no baked potatoes, no mashed potatoes, no gravy, no steak tips. We all ordered fried food figuring that was the safest and that was decent but not what we wanted.

I’m really not hard to please and totally laid back. I’ve worked in kitchens for many years so I get it. This was disappointing all around and no one seemed sorry. This was also a Saturday evening, around 6pm

This is a good place to have a quick meal or come at night and hang out at the bar.

The service was good, menu had a lot of choices and the food came very fast. It was tasty and it had a ok presentation. I really was expecting less from a pub type of restaurant during off season.

There was plenty of parking lot.

We were anxious to return due to visiting many years ago. It’s not the same. The selection on the menu is limited. Mostly fried foods. Some dishes were okay, while others were awful. The server brought our appetizers, drinks and entrees, and never returned. Typically we tip high, mostly depending on service. We tipped what I felt was fair, 20%. It wasn’t deserved but my heart couldn’t go lower.

I can tell this is a nice local business with an awesome bar with pool tables and lots of local beers on tap. However, the restaurant section seems to have been somewhat neglected. Prices are a little higher than printed on the menu, plus I got initially charged for an extra beer before I mentioned it. More than that, though, the lobster bisque is just very bad. I saw a review saying the same but decided it must just be some guy who didn’t like it. Not so. It tastes and looks like an extraordinarily pale bowl of cream – I’m genuinely not sure if blindfolded I could tell it was seafood, or indeed a dish at all. I really couldn’t eat it, even trying to make bites more palatable with oyster crackers. I didn’t identify any lobster at all either, though there were a few 1-2mm^3 pieces of something that might’ve been lobster originally. There was no bread or butter with either the cup or the bowl. I will say that the fried mozzarella bites as an appetizer are nice with a really generous portion, and the Caesar salad was solid. The French onion soup tasted pretty reasonable too. Overall I do love to see places like this exist, but I love lobster bisque and was pretty disappointed to get what was in effect a box of heavy cream poured into a bowl. The restaurant was empty with no staff immediately findable when we showed up Saturday at 6pm so the place may just be operating as a bar with a “might as well keep the restaurant technically open” attitude.

Got the sweet and spicy rib appetizer, the French onion soup, the authentic poutine and the fish and chips. All very good. The gravy on the poutine was really good. The coleslaw that came with the fish and chips was delicious. The service was great.

Absolutely amazing restaurant!

We stopped in for dinner while we spent the weekend at Stratton. This place is a hidden gem. Pizza was top notch. Calzone was packed with toppings. Bang Bang shrimp was next level. And the French onion soup *chefs kiss*

If you are in the area and looking for a meal, come to Jake’s. Service was great and so was every meal we ordered.

If I could give 6 stars I would!

Great waitress, super friendly and pleasant. Separate dining area and bar area which is nice. Two pool tables, although it’s really only practical to use one at a time. The food was fantastic and just a nice, relaxed atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back

We were nostalgic for this place as we had our first date there 2 years ago. Sadly, not nearly as good as it was then, with a much more limited menu. At least the onion rings are still good.
