I visited Galic Bulgogi, a Korean restaurant in San Antonio, around 6 p.m. on a Sunday and had a very solid experience overall.

The atmosphere is calm and comfortable. There is plenty of seating, light background music, and TVs on without sound, which keeps the space quiet and relaxed. It feels homey rather than busy or chaotic.

Service was excellent. Two male Asian staff members were attentive, polite, and efficient. Orders came out quickly, and the interaction felt genuine rather than rushed.

The food was good across the board. If you are used to Korean food in LA, New York, Chicago, or even Dallas, this will not fully match that tier, but for San Antonio, where Korean options are limited, this place performs very well.

The seafood soup stood out. It contains a substantial amount of real seafood, including shrimp and other items, not just flavoring. If you are sensitive to seafood, you should skip it. If you enjoy seafood, it is a strong choice.

The bulgogi was flavorful and well prepared. The spicy bulgogi is mild by Korean standards and not particularly spicy.

Side dishes were solid and complemented the meal well.

Overall, Galic Bulgogi delivers good Korean food, strong service, and a comfortable environment. Given the local context, it is one of the better Korean dining options in San Antonio and worth visiting.

We love it here! Service is phenomenal and food is AMAZING! We got the spicy beef bulgogi dinner and the short rib dinner. It came with a lot so we had some left over, but it was so good we almost didn’t have anything left over we will always come here for Korean food in San Antonio.

If I could give Garlic Bulgogi more than 5 stars, I would! The food is incredible—packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and perfectly cooked. The bulgogi is tender, savory, and bursting with that rich garlic kick that keeps you wanting more. Every dish tastes fresh and carefully prepared, and the portions are generous.

The staff is welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it an excellent spot for a casual meal or a night out. Garlic Bulgogi has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat, and I can’t wait to come back again. It’s truly a must-visit for anyone who loves bold, delicious Korean food!

So delicious! I will absolutely be back and most likely become a repeat customer. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. It feels homey and not corporate or chaotic. The food was incredible across the menu with all the dishes we had, great server as well. Would recommend to anybody with all the limited Korean options in this city

Heard about this Korean restaurant and decided to give it a try and all I can say is it was so worth the visit. The restaurant is cute, the staff was so friendly and attentive and the food was OMG so delish! I think we shocked the staff because we finished all the food but what can I say all the food was that good. We will definitely be making this restaurant our go-to for some good ol’Korean cuisine.

Saw a review for this place on tiktok and had to see if it was hype or really as good as advertised. Let me tell you, it surpassed all my expectations! My boyfriend and I went on a Sunday afternoon and this will for sure be a place we visit again soon! The decor gave it a warm vibe. Plenty of seating but everything still felt cozy and intimate. Our server, Dang, was amazing! He answered all my questions and seemed excited to tell me about the food and restaurant.

We got the D1 and D3 off the supper page. Beef bulgolgi and short rib bulgolgi. Short rib bulgolgi was a bit bigger of a price point but let me tell you it passed my rule with flying colors. If im paying more I expect the quantity or quality to make the price worth it. There was a generous portion and the way it melted in your mouth?!?! The beef bulgolgi was just as flavorful as well!

Then all the little sides that come with! The pickled white radish was yummy (but really I’ll eat anything pickled lol). The cucumber kimchi was refreshing. The lettuce leaves, bean sprouts and green beans were flavorful. The cabbage kimchi was good but have to be honest, I am a stereotypical white lady and that one had something that hit my tongue with too much spice. The boyfriend devored it tho! He also loved the egg plant. Im sure it was good but me and egg plant have our own beef so trust his opinion on those over mine.

We didnt try it this visit (be we i mean the boyfriend) but next visit the spicy beef bulgolgi is on the list. Dang informed us the spice level goes from a jalapeño base and up so boyfriend is excited to try that! If you catch us in there the happy lady with the short ribs in front of her will most likely be me!

Overall, I’d say the only reason this place isnt constantly bursting at the seems with clientele is simply location. They’re kind of tucked away off a pretty busy street where people don’t tend to notice them. That means its the best time to become a regular though! Get in there and claim your spot before they do become noticed so you can say you were part of the fan club before the hype!

One last note for the disabled community. There is a curb right outside but just down a little is the ramp. And the inside, while feeling cozy, has plenty of room for maneuvering a walker. I believe a wheelchair would be very doable as well. They have tables and booths so seating isnt an issue.

One of the best Korean places I’ve found in SA. The food is delicious and authentic. At the end of the meal, we got a probiotic drink for digestion. That was a plus for me

I have driven by this place so many times so we decided it was high time we checked it out. To start our meal, they brought out complimentary bowls of yummy miso soup then we ordered the gyoza appetizer which we all really liked. For our entrees, we got the bulgogi, spicy bulgogi, and chicken teriyaki. Everything (including the banchan) was so good but the spicy bulgogi was my favorite. It’s so delicious and the spice level isn’t too much (for me). My daughter enjoyed the mango mochi for dessert. At the end of the meal, they gave us these little probiotic yogurt drinks that were so good (sorta tasted like orange sherbet). The staff was so nice and attentive. We had questions about some of the banchan and they were so happy to teach us.

Finally a Korean restaurant near me that’s open until 10pm. A plus for us Night Shift peeps Started with a complimentary bowl of miso soup – pretty good; then jalapeno poppers which are split in half with dipping sauce. LA Galbi is perfectly seasoned with a bowl of rice and banchan.
Complimentary yogurt drink at the end of the meal. I can eat here twice a week & be happy.
Highly recommend, come by and try it for yourself.

I started coming to Garlic Bulgogi a few months after they opened, and I can confidently say that I’ll always continue to go when I can. The food is always so tasty, the servers always make sure to check up on you, and if they forget (we are all human) then you can click the button on the bottom of the table to call for a server. And the atmosphere is always so clean. The side dishes are sooo tasty too, and they always will change the side dishes every once in a while to keep things new. Highly recommend you try this place at least once!!!
Also, the bulgogi stew is a MUST try!
