This is the only place where Indians can come and eat Indian food in Indian style and Indian taste
Here spicy means really spicy, and they make according to level
Americans, Chinese all should go and taste once how tasty Indian food can be
We ordered several dishes and breads that were new to us, in addition to a couple of curries that were old friends. The 4 of us ordered 4 entrees, a couple of appetizers – and we took home enough for all of us to enjoy tomorrow. Servings were generous. Sauces were mm, mm good.
Although surprised by disposable utensils and plates, they did not subtract from our pleasure of trying so many great dishes.
One of our group needed a lower spice level, so I can’t comment on anything above ‘mild’ spice because we wanted to share all of the dishes. The kitchen kept the spice level down for us… but I think they would have ramped it up if we’d asked for more.
I’d add an extra star for service. The kitchen brought out each dish as soon as it was prepared. We appreciated advice on our unfamiliar choices. Drinks were replenished quickly. It made our evening a happy event.
I highly recommend checking this place out. It has been nearly empty both times we’ve visited, but it is truly a hidden gem. It is also a little different from many other Indian restaurants in Lexington since it focuses on South Indian cuisine rather than the North Indian food most of us are used to.
I wish I had snapped some pictures, but trust me, it is so worth it!
