Glad I’m not the first to come on here and say that the girls always have a bad attitude behind the register. A blonde one with a really red face. She is always extremely rude. There have been times where I’m so disappointed in the bowls. This is the closest one so I went for lunch for a smoothie. There was no one inside the establishment and I was waiting for 20 minutes almost my whole lunch. and soon after it began to fill up. So I guess after she saw the line build up she rushed my smoothie and handed it to me with an attitude. My smoothie wasn’t even blended all the way and I will definitely be adding photos. WHOLE STRAWBERRIES IN MY SMOOTHIE IS CRAZY. Need to hire new brighter people. Cause they are miserable in there and make the buisness look bad.

Yay I love me some acai bowl! And they got a rocking pineapple logo to go with it.

So often I wondered why this superduper food in such a superduper delicious form factor has not spread its popularity, but Playa Bowls around NJ are finally replacing froyo as the healthier kid on the block.

Decor is very surfer like – bright colors, casual seating, just need a guy greeting you with a hang loose sign saying “hey duuuude” and they’d be complete.

Base options are acai, dragonfruit blend, banana blend and coconut blend. I went for the electric mermaid. They also got legit cold brew coffee too. Top it off with granola, fruits, or honey drizzle and you got yourself one (slightly overpriced but fantastically amazing) sweet treat.

First time visiting this location today and will not go back. The blonde girl in the front was rude. Asked nicely for extra honey and she just gave me a look then i asked her to not place a lid on my bowl, she looks at me while covering the bowl that I asked her not to then aggressively slides the bowl back at me…? The worst part was this obnoxious and loud video they start playing on the tv about Russia and Ukraine with curse words at full volume. Then very conveniently, as soon as another customer walks in, they pause it (almost as if they shouldn’t be playing that with customers in the store) called them out on how they paused it when he walked in and somehow they start playing this documentary or show again as soon as the guy walks out with his bowl. Wildly inappropriate to be playing in front of customers.. made me super uncomfortable and it was just LOUD. Hated the environment and the poor customer service. The guy was nice but the girl was not and she went to play the show again after the guy left. Makes sense why no one was in there— pretty awful environment. If she’s so miserable making açaí bowls, she should consider a new job. Won’t be returning or maybe i will. Hopefully shows about Russia with curse words aren’t playing at full volume at an açaí bowl store.

I love spending $12 on a bowl of rotten fruit.

Usually this playa bowl is pretty okay. But on my recent trip, majority of the strawberries on my bowl were mushy and over ripe. We also tried to go sit in their outside seating and the garbage was like over flowing and also, there’s all their recycling and garbage bins out there. We walked right back out.

I usually enjoy Playa Bowls, but my recent experience was disappointing. I ordered a bowl that came with bananas, and unfortunately, they were clearly overripe and mushy. As you can see in the photo, some slices were brown and had an unappetizing texture — definitely not fresh or store quality.

Given how much Playa Bowls emphasizes freshness, this was unexpected and below the standard I’ve come to expect. I hope the store pays more attention to the quality of their fruit moving forward — bananas like this should never make it into a customer’s bowl.

The staff here is extremely rude and unfriendly. When you walk in there is absolutely zero greeting or welcome. No “hi, how are you?” Or anything related. When they take your order they barely even look you in the eyes and are all on their phones majority of the time, not acknowledging any customers. Sucks because I love the food and drinks here, but the staff definitely hinders the experience with their mean girl energy for no reason.

I recently tried a bowl from Playa Bowls, and I must say, the taste was amazing! The combination of flavors was delightful and really hit the spot. However, I was a bit disappointed because it seemed like there was a missing ingredient in my bowl. Despite that, I still enjoyed the overall experience and would definitely give it another try in the future.
