Any restaurant can have good food, which this place does! Any restaurant can be clean, which the food was fresh and environment super clean. But the service was top notch to boot! I especially value a restaurant that values people that come in with kids, interact with them, and make me feel like I’m not a burden for bringing in kiddos. To boot, the portions and value for the food was top notch. The lobster roll was absolutely overflowing and delicious!

Absolutely WONDERFUL and DELICIOUS! We keep coming back for their steamer clams as they are fabulous! We were 3 people and we ordered 3 orders of steamer clams! So fresh and sweet. Their soft shell crabs are one of my all time favorites as well. Their service is always wonderful. Highly recommended!

Been there once , food expensive for very bad quality, the lobster was like rubber no taste and cold, and the place is very small plus service is slow ,

After returning from Fire Island, it was lunch time and we were all pretty hungry so we decided to have lunch at Nicky’s Clam Bar, which is conveniently across from the Fire Island Ferries terminal.

Most of us did not drink alcohol but I was curious about the Rocket Fuel, which consisted of rum, cream of coconut, pineapple juice, and ice blended together and topped with amaretto. I was surprised it was not garnished with any fruit such as pineapple and cherries like pictured. It was good but much stronger than the one I had at Le Dock in Fair Harbor.

We shared two appetizers – Fried Calamari and Steamed Mussels. The Fried Calamari consisted of lightly breaded calamari fried and served hot of the press, and with marinara sauce. The Mussels were steamed with a garlic herb white wine sauce and served with warm french bread. The sauce was so delicious we had to get more french bread to enjoy. I was surprised the second batch of french bread was not warm like the first one.

Some of us ordered soup, either Clam Bisque or Manhattan Clam Chowder. The Clam Bisque was a New England style clam chowder with clams and celery. It was served with oyster crackers. It was creamy and on the blander side. It was not as tasty nor thick as the one at Chowder Bar.

All of us ordered Flounder on a Roll, either broiled or fried. The flounder was lightly seasoned with paprika, served with shredded lettuce, slice of tomato, lemon, and tartar sauce on a poppyseed roll. There was a debate on which Flounder on a Roll tasted better. Despite everyone’s thoughts, I enjoyed the broiled flounder on a roll but I wish that it was served with a pickle.

We stopped here for clams on the half shell and they didn’t disappoint. Fresh and delicious. We also ordered steamers and they were prepared in a great broth and a large portion and were also very good. Would highly recommend for clams or for the steamers. The service was also spot on. It’s right where you take the ferry to fire Island, but there’s plenty of parking out front just for the restaurant people. You can also sit outside if you want but it was chilly out and we sat inside. If you’re looking for a fresh clams on the half shell, this is the place to go.
