I ordered Papa John’s today and it was honestly the best pizza I’ve ever had. Everything was fresh, perfectly made, and full of flavor. The employees were super friendly, courteous, and made the whole experience even better. Excellent service all around. I really appreciate the team and the pride they put into their work.”

I have never experienced service this bad in my life.

I spent over $25 on a pizza order and tipped. I live in a small 1,000-square-foot home with two large, loud standard poodles who lose their minds when anyone comes near the door. The driver claimed she knocked loudly and called. That simply did not happen. If someone so much as breathes on my porch, my dogs announce it to the entire zip code.

When I called the store, I spoke with a man named Derek who was argumentative, dismissive, and disrespectful. He made it very clear that he believed I was wrong and offered no apology, no solution, and no accountability before abruptly ending the call.

Let me ask the obvious question:
Why would I spend $25 plus a tip on a pizza, then fail to notice a delivery attempt — especially while sitting inside a house with two barking dogs — and then have to call the store myself to track it down? That makes no sense.

I then contacted text support — useless. I called customer support and spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to resolve this, only to be told the general manager would contact me today. I waited. No call came. So I called back, only to be told that my complaint had already been closed by the store manager.

Closed.
By the very store I was complaining about.
With no resolution, no replacement, no refund, no apology — nothing.

All I got was two hours of wasted time, cold pizza, and an all-around miserable experience that cost me money and patience.

What is the point of Papa John’s customer feedback system if stores are allowed to close their own complaints without corporate oversight or customer consent?

I am 57 years old and have worked in customer service for over 30 years. If I was treated this dismissively, I can only imagine how college students and others are being handled — especially given this store’s proximity to ETSU.

I will not order from this location again, and I will not stay quiet about how poorly this was handled.

Update: After four calls to corporate, my complaint was closed by the store without resolution. Still no refund, no apology, and no contact from management.

To the “manager” who hung up on me multiple times and was a smarta$$ to me tonight and told me that he didn’t have to apologize about my order showing up at my house like this, I really hope you were just having a bad night and don’t treat your customers like this all the time! Because if this is truly how you conduct professionalism at this location (801 West Walnut Street Johnson City TN 37604), then I promise you karma always makes her rounds and she will eventually catch up with you for treating people this way!!!

All and all a great pizza! This one’s described as a New York style. Not too far off. I added red pepper flakes and grated Parmesan, now it’s legit! My only gripe is that it substantially lost temperature upon arrival. I live in the neighborhood right behind this location so I was surprised by it’s cool temperature. After reheating it in the oven at 350° it was a superior experience!

They’re New York style pizzas actually very good. I find it better than Italian pizza pub especially for the price. The guy cooking the pizzas lately Chris has been doing an excellent job. Perfectly crispy and chewy and not a floppy pizza.

Requested all flat wings and was told they could no do that. It has to be a mixture yet when I get my food they gave me ALL drumsticks. The pizza also has entirely too much sauce. Gets worse every time I order.
