Loved the cherry thing-aling. Drove close to an hour each direction. This year we left at 11 am and arrived at noon. The line was long and we ended up waiting over an hour in line. The first year I bought half dozen. This year I bought 2 dozen and we ate them all but 3 that went into the freezer. I enjoyed the 3 frozen ones this weekend. Slightly warmed in the microwave is the best! Thanks!

Drove one hour from Florence, Kentucky to Batesville, Indiana for their delicious Cherry Ding-A-Lings. This is made one weekend a year on Presidents’ Day weekend. What a treat!

Made a 2 hour drive this morning to pick up some of the famed Cherry Thingalings for the first time. Totally worth the drive! I picked up some other pastries as well and the kids said those were really good as well. Employees were super friendly and courteous, especially at 5:30 am!

Fun Saturday outing to Schmidt’s bakery for their famous cherry thing a lings. Definitely worth the hype. Warm fritter studded with cherries and coated in sweet but not too sweet cherry glaze. Highlight of the adventure was getting meet Clem, founder of bakery. Love that we were able to support this family business.

This is a great little boutique bakery, and will remind you of a pastry shop in Europe. They have so many options. It’s not just a donut shop. I highly recommend you make the stop.

Ordered cherry thingalings online because of all of the hype it took over a week to get here by then all if them were stale. What a waste of money and food. We paid $24 dollars to have 2 dozen shipped to us. Should have saved our money and took a road trip. Should have known they wouldnt be any good mailed to us.

Came here for the first time today and was not disappointed. The Cherry Thing A Lings were fabulous. Will definitely make the trip every year.

finally ordered the cherry Thing-A-Lings this year. spent 50.00 for a dozen (25 for the dozen then 25 for the delivery) was not impressed with them at all. do not agree with the obsession that some people have with them! I will not be ordering them again

My husband and I made the pilgrimage on the final day of the Cherry Thing-A-Ling haul. We were literally there at the final hour. The lines of loyal customers were well-managed, and the purchase seamless. I had never had these delicacies before, but I can assure you they did not disappoint! From the photos, one might think they are sickeningly sweet, but this was not the case at all. Simply put, I can certainly see what all the fuss is about. After tucking away a couple dozen in the freezer, I am convinced I’ll be an annual customer!

Always friendly and an overall wonderful experience. I will regularly drive 50min to visit. Both their cherry and cranberry thing-a-lings are a must try. Love this place!
