We tried this place for lunch for the first time and weren’t disappointed. Everything we ordered was delicious. The fried green tomatoes were a bit under seasoned but that could just be my preference. The atmosphere is super cute, makes you feel the southern hospitality. The staff were really sweet, helpful, and attentive. It was neat being able to see the planes right outside. Everything is made fresh so food comes out a bit slow but it’s worth it and the prices are reasonable. This will definitely be a new spot for us.

Great hidden gem. Food was very good. Prices are good. Really nice to sit and eat while watching the aircraft come and go. You can drive in by car or fly in by aircraft. Plenty of parking for both aircraft and cars.

This restaurant is Adorable. The prices are great and service was top notch. Big windows look out on to the ramp/ runway to serve all your plane spotting needs. Open at 7am on Friday. I will be flying in again just to stop here. 5 stars

This has always been one of our favorite places and they did not disappoint in spite of having to serve the crowds from the nothing air show who had no other place to eat. Six of us rode in on motorcycles and the traffic was too bad to go elsewhere so we had no choice but to wait 45 min for a table and another 45 min to be served but the food was GREAT! Considering that they were slammed, they did an awesome job maintaining the quality of their food so we gave them a pass on service.

I’m a big fan of food in general, but food within walking distance from the ramp with a view of beautiful planes? That’s a dream come true. I ordered the Air Controller plate, absolutely delicious. Just enough carbs to make you a little sleepy on the flight home, haha. If you’re in the area, fuel is cheap and a stop at Short Cakes is 100% worth it. Great food, great vibes, and you can’t beat the location. Safe flying, SEE YUH!

We LOVE Short Cakes! All of their food is amazing. You really can’t go wrong. We’ve been a couple of times, and each time, we have had great service and delicious food. Shout out to our waitress, Mary Beth! It’s also fun because you can watch the planes come in and out while you eat or sit outside on their patio and watch them. I absolutely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

I really like the owner. You can really see she has passion for what she does! But the staff. My wife and I flew in for a simple coffee and dessert on afternoon. I ordered a cappuccino (yes, I know it was past 10 am but goultybas charged) and my wife ordered a coffee and a slice of cake. We had to ask for silverware, napkins, we had to ask for sugar, stirring spoons and so on. No big deal. When I got the cappuccino it had no frothed milk
None. Now, I’ve been drinking cappuccino for over 50 years and never had this experience bad of an experience (almost as bad in Spain and Portugal with worse service). I spoke to the young lady who was very kind and I asked for frothed milk on top. She re-did it. The poc is the second cappuccino. PS. I also hate cappuccino in a Styrofoam cup. Im drinking it at your table!!! Im not going anywhere. Itbshould be served in a cappuccino cup.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. The food was excellent. Hubby and I both had the County fried steak with eggs, butter grits ( to die for), hashbrowns and attentive biscuit. You certainly can taste the love chef puts into his/her work. Sooo good! Being right there when a plane comes in is super exciting.

Food is always good here, but the value for the money is lacking. Portions are rather small, and food is overpriced. Bakery items are exceptionally overpriced, beyond the restaurant fare. Good selection of southern favorites, just wish they gave you a generous “southern” portion, and more sides with the sandwiches and entrees.
Worth the stop, and great location whether you fly into the airport or are driving by. Very clean location, no problems parking.

Really enjoyed our first dinner here. Everything was delicious & a great price. The restaurant itself was very clean & staff was very nice.
Review update: After coming here a few times I’ve noticed that the service has slowed down a lot. I had to flag my server down to ask for an extra napkin or refills several times.
I would say go for the food and the view. Service needs work.
