I enjoy having lunch at this place, the quality is beyond expectations, and god know how picky I am ! The Fish is so fresh for Sashimis, Crudo, bowls, I haven’t had a hot dishes here before because I am just so obsessed with their raw fish/seafood dishes ! The seasoning is perfect ! I promise to try hot dishes someday though ! The service is really good the staff is kind and helpful but not intrusive. The atmosphere is comfortable, it feels relaxing eating here. This is by far my favourite restaurant in North Sydney, the quality is like nowhere else in the area and the prices are more than reasonable ! I have to book for dinner soon ! Don’t think twice, please go try it out and you won’t be disappointed

From the cool decor to the fun drinks & dishes, this is an Izakaya spot that feels like I’ve been transported straight to Japan! ✨

Starting with my favourite dishes, this includes the Kanamiso Okonomi, which was a mix of fresh crab meat, Hokkaido scallop, salmon roe, topped with a golden egg yolk and served in a crab shell. It was delicious and paired really well with the fragrant mushroom rice. We also enjoyed the Tiger Prawn Kaisen Don, which was topped with a juicy prawn and an assortment of sashimi. I think the best combo when it comes to eating fresh seafood is with seaweed and I loved that it came with it. The Chawanmushi was also silky smooth and topped with a bit of crab meat, fish roe and drizzled in chili oil.

Now personally the letdown dish for me was the King Crab Okonomiyaki. There was only a single crab leg and the batter itself was also quite thick. For the price of the dish I would expect a bit more seafood. I also found the rice to seafood ratio was a bit off for all the dishes, and we were left with a lot of plain rice.

That being said though, overall I really love the vibe of the whole place and I was also quite impressed by the freshness of all the seafood. It’s definitely the perfect spot for after-work drinks and if you’re looking for a more elevated Izakaya experience.

The atmosphere feels very lively and cozy. They have a good variety of dishes including juicy skewers, rich ramen, fresh sashimi, crispy fried bites, and surprisingly good cocktails. A nice place for casual catch-ups, family dinners, or a relaxed night out with friends ✨

Came here recently and it was actually really good. Such a nice little Japanese izakaya vibe in North Sydney.

We ordered the chirashi bowl, the miso cod and abalone pot rice, karaage chicken, and the pork and cabbage okonomiyaki — the okonomiyaki was definitely my favourite. Super flavourful and really satisfying. The cod and abalone pot rice was also done really well, and everything just tasted fresh.

Drinks were really good too — we got the passionfruit and watermelon slushies and they were perfect for the warm weather.

Overall just a really solid spot for a casual dinner or drinks. A little tricky to find at first, but we’ll definitely be back.

Great spot for Japanese grill and don! The tuna & negitoro don was super rich and generously portioned, and everything we ordered — from the skewers to the miso cod & abalone pot rice — was delicious. Loved the modern, cosy interior with warm lighting too. Awesome food, great vibes, would definitely come back.

Lots of versatility on the menu – snacks, mains, grilled, raw – plus an extra happy hour menu including:
– $6 tap beer
– $3 oysters
– edamame
– $8 corn ribs

To help the kitchen as a group booking, we placed the majority of the order a couple of days in before dining.

– premium sashimi
– abalone
– kanimiso okonomi
– baby Octopus
– pork belly yakitori
– chicken thigh yakitori
– premium MB9 wagyu sirloin
– wagyu MB4 sirloin
– grilled mackerel
– prawn Bisque Udon
– beef udon
– karaage chicken
– wagyu yaki Udon
– sukiyaki beef hot pot
– seasonal crudo
– grilled king prawn

We ran out of room on the tables! Would say go for their grilled and cooked items. Friendly service and fun setting.

I think I’ve found one of my new favourite Japanese izakaya spots in North Sydney — and it’s only a short walk from the Victoria Cross metro!

Honestly, I wanted everything on the menu. Everything looked so fresh and yummy! Japanese is one of my absolute favourite cuisines, especially in summer. Just imagine: fresh sashimi with a nice cocktail… and that’s exactly what we did l

Caught up with a friend just before Christmas, and it was the perfect night — I loved the cute interior, the open bar, and they even have DIY cocktails out front! The slushy cocktails were refreshing and just what we needed on a hot day

The Crispy House Aged Quail was my standout — I always order quail if it’s on the menu, and this one didn’t disappoint! The skewers, sashimi, and salad were all so good too. Everything was spot on, and the service was so lovely.

Definitely a cosy spot to chill — I’ll be back soon

✨ What we ordered:
• Crispy House Aged Quail — $19
• Premium Sashimi — $39
• Tuna & Negitori Don — $33
• Chicken Mid Wing Skewers — $6.20
• Abalone — $13.50
• Garden Salad — $8.00
• Watermelon Wish — $15
• Passionfruit Breeze Mocktail — $15 (I tried this one)

Happy Hour menu starts 5 – 7pm

Amazing food! The cod is a hit! And their thick cut sashimi is so so fresh!! Highly recommend. And you have to order the crème brûlée cheesecake! They burn it right in front of you !!

I had the chirashi bowl, which came with a generous variety of fresh sashimi over nicely seasoned rice. From the grill, the chicken thigh skewer, tsukune, and shiitake were all well grilled and easy to enjoy alongside a drink.

The signature miso cod with claypot rice was a highlight — the cod was soft and flaky, paired with warm rice that worked really nicely together. The prawn bisque udon was also very rich and creamy, perfect if you’re in the mood for something a bit heavier.

Overall, everything tasted fresh and authentic, very similar to the kind of Japanese meals I’ve had in Japan. A great spot for a relaxed and satisfying meal in the area.

Staff were friendly, service is fast. Love the all the food in the menu. Drinks were reasonable priced. The premium sashimi was good and we ordered 2x. Yakitori were good and not over cooked. I particularly like the tsukune. Parking was easy (wilson parking) downstairs. The cod and abalone rice is a must order and also the squid and steak. This is my first time there and i will go back and try others the menu. Not forgetting the chawanmushi was delicious. So far everything we ordered was good.
