My husband and I wanted good Chinese food for new years eve and we decided on this restaurant. The food was okay, not as flavorful as I would have expected, and a little too greasy. But the one thing I would definitely not recommend is the sesame chicken, I bit into about 6 or 7 pieces and they each had the tiniest piece of chicken and the rest was very soggy, and very salty breading. My husband ordered the beef in Garlic sauce and I asked if broccoli could be added and they immediately said yes, which was very nice of them, but I added up my bill and before taxes it was around $60, not including the added broccoli, but when my husband picked up the order it was suddenly over $81, not sure if the broccoli added to the dish made it that much more. But for the amount of food, and lack of chicken in the breading I do feel like it is definitely very overpriced.

my best bro and I have been here multiple times and we are both picky about Chinese food and feel this gem of a place is some of the best in town. Limited hours as they prep with only fresh ingredients. Excellent wontons, soup, fried rice flavorful and fluffy. Excellent and friendly service!

The vibe and food of this restaurant is great. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and kind and the staff was excited to tell us about the Chinese New Year. A beautiful and calm atmosphere combined with great food and wait staff makes this a good choice if you’re visiting in town like I was.

I was looking for somewhere to eat with my best friend to get a break from work. We found Jings after walking around third ward, and I’m so happy we did. We ordered spring rolls, wonton soup, rice, and some garlic beef… we are both so surprised that there aren’t more people coming in because the food is amazing! Service was quick and food also came out very very fast. The atmosphere in here is so nice and relaxing and we can’t wait to come by again! Thanks to the staff who are very kind and helpful! Made it feel like home. Will definitely come by again and recommend to others!! 🙂

Jings is a fantastic place to dine. The food comes out quickly and you can tell it’s prepared with fresh ingredients. The chef was formerly trained in Shanghai, you can taste it in the authenticity of the food. Highly recommended!

I have never had a restaurant vary so widely in between the quality of dishes that I ordered. The shrimp fried rice was easily an 8/10, but the chicken lo mein was a joke. Based on the other pictures I can tell that they used to use the proper flat noodles, but these were just spaghetti noodles. Seasoning was just garlic oil, there were no veggies at all, and about eight small, thin pieces of chicken coated in cornstarch and lightly fried. 1/10, nasty. The orange chicken has no discernable orange flavor or balanced sweetness as expected, just thickened soy/oyster sauce.

Ordered beef lo mein and combination fried rice for dinner. The food tasted nasty, soggy, overly processed, and lacked flavor. So disappointed as the entrees were 14 bucks each, in small round containers fit for a typical lunch special. Will not recommend, go to Bamboo or Emporer of China.

Delicious takeout! Highly recommend the Kung pao chicken, the baby bok choy, and the eggplant. Best fried rice in Milwaukee

Both the curried chicken and general tso chicken were, unfortunately, very bland. The friend chicken used for the latter was not crispy at all, but instead gummy in a way that seemed reheated or microwaved, rather than freshly fried and then coated with sauce in a hot wok. The sauce was either store-bought, or incredibly underdeveloped.
The curry seemed almost entirely missing from the curry chicken, instead being somewhat watery. This is surprising, given how easy it would be to (at the very least) use a premade seasoning to a proper amount. The chicken was also overcooked and not velveted properly, which led to the texture being slightly rubbery and sticking to the teeth when chewing. The veggies were ok, if not also slightly overcooked.
Service was good. The atmosphere, minus the giant holding station against the wall, was just fine.
In any case, there was an overall lack of freshness, execution, flavor, or any inspiration in what both me and my partner had. After trying our food, we both just sort of looked up at one another with disappointment. Quality Chinese-American cuisine seems to be increasingly hard to find, and Jing’s continues that trend – regardless of any supposed accolades from the past.
(Please don’t argue with your disappointed patrons online voicing legitimate concerns – it’s incredibly embarrassing to read. With all due respect, your energy would be much better spent improving on and delivering quality food).

I’ve been ordering Jing’s Chinese since 2018, and lately I noticed some inconsistency in quality. Today I ordered chicken lo mein and orange chicken.
The chicken does not taste like a standard orange chicken, and I did not find any orange peels which is typical with orange chicken to bring out the flavor. The chicken is also soggy.
I also ordered the lo mein. It is literally only chicken and noodles, and not much chicken. The taste is bad. The noodles taste like maybe they were old? I was surprised to see there was no celery or anything else in the lo mein. The dish is very dry and lacks flavor. It is barely flavored at all. I ended up throwing it away because of how bad the noodles tasted.
The crab rangoons were good. For 50 dollars plus tip on a delivery I won’t be ordering again due to inconsistent quality
Edit the crab rangoons were also lacking in flavor and it was mostly cream cheese. They were okay, I wouldn’t say good.
