We came to Lilia Comedor to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it was truly an experience — exactly what we love when we go out to eat. From the moment we sat down, the servers were warm, knowledgeable, and completely on top of every detail without ever feeling intrusive.
We chose the chef’s tasting menu, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Each course felt thoughtful and intentional, with such a beautiful balance of flavors and textures. There was a uniqueness to every dish that made us slow down and really savor what was in front of us.
What I appreciate most about a place like this is how it invites you to be present with your food. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and hyper-seasonal, and you can feel the care in every bite. We’re already looking forward to coming back again… and again… and again.

Lilia is an absolute gem and my new favorite Portland restaurant. The menu changes weekly based on the freshest ingredients, and every dish bursts with bold flavors and inspiration from across Mexico. The vibe is chill and the staff are sweet and knowledgeable. Music was great (rock en español) and not too loud, so you could have a conversation at your table without yelling (yay!)
We tried the chef’s tasting menu, which included two appetizers (PNW oysters and tomato/melon salad, two large plates (mushroom barbacoa & cheese-filled corn dish and king salmon which was caught that morning) and two desserts (fig pastie and a creamy Asian pear). We also got the carnitas chilaquiles separately—highly recommend. Each dish was beautifully prepared, incredibly tasty, and unforgettable. The wine pairing ($68 per person) was thoughtfully curated and well worth it, and the cocktails were just as impressive.
Can’t wait to go back!!!!

Wonderful dinner, did the tasting menu for two. Portions are great and filling, loved the seasonality of the menu. Staff was super nice, we sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the chef prepare the food in front of us!

Menu changes at the hands of a chef that has a great pulse on seasonal ingredients. The pork confit is always on the menu and always on point!

Lilia Comedor crafts dishes with the precision of a jeweler-each plate a miniature masterpiece where every ingredient feels intentional. But after ordering the entire menu-from the ethereal Diver Scallop Crudo to the richly layered Carnitas Gringa (and dessert afterwards), we were left with the peculiar sensation of having dined on a collection of beautiful, fleeting moments rather than an actual meal.
The Alaskan Halibut, perched atop brassica spaetzle, was a study in refinement-three perfect bites that vanished before we could fully appreciate them. Similarly, the Blonde Morel Tetela, though earthy and complex, left us longing for just one more masa parcel to make it feel substantial. Even the generous-seeming Koji Zucchini Tatemado, with its charred queso panela and peanut crunch, played more like an interlude than a main act.
There’s undeniable artistry here, and the flavors linger in memory: the bright acidity of green strawberry curtido on the scallops, the smoky depth of the tetela’s salsa baja. But when the last plate is cleared and you realize you’ve sampled everything yet still feel curiously unsated, the experience begins to resemble an exhibition rather than dinner.
Lilia Comedor is the kind of place that makes you pause-both to admire the craftsmanship and to wonder if you should’ve packed a snack. For those seeking culinary theater, it delivers. For anyone hoping to leave with both their curiosity and their appetite satisfied, the performance might feel tantalizingly brief.

I came here to celebrate a birthday on a friend’s recommendation, and I must say Lilia Comedor was spectacular! The menu is very limited and changes every week to serve only the best hyper seasonal offerings. The food is as artistic as it is fresh and delicious The flavor combinations of the entrees are striking, to say the least. I ordered something sharable from each section: Califlower Pastor, Pork Collar Carnitas, and finally, Hallibut Enfrijolados. I enjoyed each dish a little more than its predecessor. The califlower had great texture and brought some serious heat. The pork collar was extremely tender and perfectly paired with an avocado base and blackened broccoli with a pickled rhubarb. Finally, my favorite dish was a halibut with a blackbean adobo and snap peas. I can’t even begin to describe how delicious all of these dishes tasted. Everything I ate seemed like a masterpiece in flavor and presentation. I can not recommend this place highly enough. The only drawback is a tiny 5 space parking area or metered street parking on the other side of SW Moody being the only options if you drive there. The space inside is quaint, but seating appears limited. Plan ahead and reserve a space if possible. This place takes the culinary arts to new heights. Highly recommend!

Extremely good and interesting and creative food. 5/6 courses were stunning and the other was still very good. Spicy! Absolutely worth $120/person. Particularly loved both desserts; sometimes even at like 2-star places the desserts don’t live up to the rest of the menu but here they were memorable and special and delicious. It’s been fun just looking through the reviews and seeing so much variety in the dishes they do throughout the year, excited to come back. Similar imo in quality and price to Kann.

Had an exceptional meal the other night at Lilia Comedor celebrating my one-year wedding anniversary ♥️
Got the chef’s tasting menu and was genuinely surprised with everything. The restaurant describes itself as a hyper-seasonal place that marries Mexican and Pacific Northwestern cuisine, so I was definitely excited to visit.
All dishes were incredibly tasty and creative, with my favorite being the short rib. Seriously – that dish was out of this world. Maybe one of the best things I’ve ever tasted in my entire life.
As a self-pronounced carrot cake fiend, I was excited to see that the dessert was inspired by one of my all-time favorites. I wasn’t a huge fan of the dark chocolate dessert as I found the hibiscus a bit gummy and seedy, but I was overall satisfied and would love to return in the future!

Satisfying portions and a non-pretentious atmosphere. The changing menu guarantees a new experience each visit with the freshest daily ingredients you can see from where you sit.
