i love this place and come here all the time. i’ve been eating here since i was a teenager. this place is owned by the loviest couple who are there day in and day out. they dish out consistent and delicious food prepared with care and attention to detail. this is my fav takeout place in olympia. such a treasure. thank you for your dedication to feeding the people of this town delicious food!!!

We’ve been meaning to check Bonsai Wok out, but have never got around to it. Happily we gave it a chance and no disappointment at all. The service was fabulous. No wait and our meal was made very quickly. My son declared it’s his new favorite place to eat at. I wish I had taken more photos of the interior. The entire restaurant was clean and tidy with a large bookcase with a lot of book choices for reading.
The walls were filled with local artwork for sale. I’d love to come back in a few months to see if this is something they do all year long, or just during the holiday season.
As we were eating our food the entire Olympia High School basketball team came in, and the staff tackled all of them with ease and quick service. If they were overwhelmed it didn’t show for a moment.
We will come back for sure and recommend giving them a shot if you’ve never been in before.

We love our neighborhood Teriyaki place. They are so friendly and helpful. Also, they have no problems with changing your order, like leaving items off. Everything is hot and yummy. Vegetables are crunchy, perfectly cooked. Also nicely flavored.

Very nice staff and quite quick. Food was good although it didn’t necessarily stand out vs other teryaki/Asian bistros. I was very happy with the portion size though! More than enough food for two meals. Plenty and seating, not too busy, convenient location, easy ordering process. No hesitations in returning.

Stopped at Bonsai for lunch/dinner. Been here before and the portions are great. So I ate half for lunch and will eat the rest for dinner. Prices are on par with most teriyaki places in town. There is a language barrier which makes service a bit of an issue. Food is as good as most places but they give you a lot. I had Mongolian beef and as you can see by the picture, there’s a lot of beef.

Bonsai Wok is such a cute neighborhood teriyaki place, with lots of variety and charm. The classic teriyaki is cooked well and not too sweet, the Chinese wok additions like General Tsos chicken are crispy and well made, and they even have some Korean dishes as well! I love that they have local artists work all over the dining room. The staff are friendly and very accommodating of substitutions. Is this the best teriyaki in the PNW? Maybe not, but this is definitely the best place to order teriyaki in the neighborhood, and I’m always coming here for a teriyaki meal.

The teriyaki sauce is BOMB. The teriyaki Chicken is dry.
